Something we should do before the next release is giving the Leaders individual AI settings. Who volunteers for that task? (You won't be left alone)
Other (second Leaders) we should shedule for the time after the next patch
woodelf Jun 14, 2006, 05:27 AM I'll gladly do the Leader settings in XML. I'll start a new thread so I can get info and input about how each individual leader should act in certain instances.
Ploeperpengel Jun 14, 2006, 05:36 AM Good. I won't change anymore at those files until after the next release so I put them in your hands and P.L.s if he wants to. The possible traits we can discuss in your thread too.;)
This thread we may use then to choose the art for them.
Rabbit, White Jun 14, 2006, 01:17 PM Are you guys sticking with strictly 2d portraits for leaderheads, or are you open to putting in 3d heads?
Ploeperpengel Jun 14, 2006, 02:59 PM For now only 2D. It's difficult enough to get a fitting style with 2D pics already. And I don't really see any 3D fantasy Leaders that would look like WH personalities unfortunatly.
Psychic_Llamas Jun 15, 2006, 02:38 AM just a little note, you spelt "Greaser Goldtooth" wrong for the Ogres, its not Greaser, its Greaseus.
Ploeperpengel Jun 15, 2006, 03:20 AM just a little note, you spelt "Greaser Goldtooth" wrong for the Ogres, its not Greaser, its Greaseus.
Thx, I'll change that. Keep me informed if you encounter errors here. Oh and could you have a look at the civdesign and make some proposials how they should be named in the mod(description), thx.
Psychic_Llamas Jun 15, 2006, 05:37 AM sure, no prob:)
(EDIT) I apologise, but i just checked, and i was wrong, it is neither Greaser or Greaseus, its just plain Greasus Goldtooth, Sorry, i was wrong:(
Ploeperpengel Jun 18, 2006, 04:46 PM Updated the civtraits-list you see what we still miss here. Let's decide quick what traits the rest(in game) should get. Remember no magic for now just quickly achieveable muggledesign;)
woodelf Jun 19, 2006, 05:15 AM One thing; You have a THORGRIM and a THORGRIMM listed in the Civ4LeaderheadInfos. :)
Ploeperpengel Jun 19, 2006, 05:24 AM One thing; You have a THORGRIM and a THORGRIMM listed in the Civ4LeaderheadInfos. :)
Ups! Yes ThorgriM is enough, thx.
Duke van Frost Jun 26, 2006, 08:35 AM I found some new art.
Here´s something for an Estalian Leader:

And some for Luccini (still need Lucan, so that I can combine them into one pic):
http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/189/1139461143291179medium6oo.th.jpg (http://img511.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1139461143291179medium6oo.jpg)

maybe something new for Ariel:
http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/3400/1528321147627491large4tw.th.jpg (http://img511.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1528321147627491large4tw.jpg)
Empress Tomoe (for Nippon - without the Dragon)
http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/2117/1139461143733124medium5by.th.jpg (http://img511.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1139461143733124medium5by.jpg)
Ploeperpengel Jun 26, 2006, 05:25 PM Tomoe is nice(with Dragon). The elf is good for the progressscreen but to childish for Ariel I think. The spanish merchant we could take for a second Leader for Estalia, he doesn't look like a priest but I'm not sure about at all cause he doesn't have much fantasy flavor..
For Lucan and Luccini maybe it helps to look for something like Caligula or Cesare Borgia(both had a faible for their sisters and fit to Tilea/Italia. Maybe someone painted them nicely;)
Psychic_Llamas Jun 27, 2006, 03:16 AM I really like Tomoe with the dragon!
dont like the 'ariel' one, nails too pointy, too young, wierd hair, has no robe flowing into infinity, and no wings:(
estalian leader could be Ok for a merchant or something as Ploe says. but maybe just as a placeholder untill we find something with more fantasy flavor.
Luccina (second one) could be quite interseting. having to immortal children rulling the Tileans could be really cool. just finding one of Lucan that matches would be hard. i suggest something along the lines of Apollo and Artemis from greek mythology.
Duke van Frost Jun 27, 2006, 06:50 AM I´ll be eagerly searchiong for something that fits Luccina and Lucan - thst´s because I love the Diplo you did for those two P.L. and they are something very unique - I just got to have them in the next release!!!!!!
Psychic_Llamas Jun 28, 2006, 03:06 AM  well im glad you like them, they are very unique arnt they.
I was thinking, because it dosnt actually specify what age Lucan and Luccina are, we could use our creative lisence and say that they are Immortal souls, that have the experience of all of humanity behind them, and the eternal knowledge of the gods, and yet, because of their light heartedness, they decided to take the form of children in the realworld. i really do quite like the child like Luccina in your post above and think it could turn out quite interesting. but this would definately be a matter of opinion.
Duke van Frost Jun 28, 2006, 06:35 AM Yeah, I also would like them to look like childs - I think it makes them even more unique and fits their characters quite well.
Scytale Jul 01, 2006, 09:21 AM I am sure that Nagash is supposed to be with the Tomb kings and not Sylvania.
Ploeperpengel Jul 01, 2006, 09:31 AM Ok what now? PL says sylvania for sure you tell Tombkings. Could you fight this out please?
Scytale Jul 01, 2006, 11:15 AM Trust me! I became so obsessed of anything related to WH after playing the mod that I can't be wrong :p ...well at least not now. This (http://uk.games-workshop.com/tombkings/who-are/) should clear things up a little :). You will read that Nagash was the one responsible for the birth of the Tomb kings.

Yes however after that event Nagash became the enemy of the tombkings. PL summarized that here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=4160512&postcount=13
After the spell of awakining the tombkings became the worst enemies of nagash so it's stated there(I think that's text from an armybook)
Well but in a way Nagash is the father of both the Sylvanians and the Tombkings maybe we put him as a superleader for both civs.
Psychic_Llamas Jul 01, 2006, 07:48 PM  Nagash has got to be the biggest conspiricy in this game!
"the reign of Nagash was a timeof terror for all people of nehekhara...by means of a devilish sorcery, a blasphemy that the people of nehekhara felt certain would incur the wrath of the gods...conjured evil daemons...so great was the tribute (black pyramid) brutally exacted by nagash that starvation wracked the lands and great cities fell into ruin. eventually the kings of nehekhara rallied against Nagash and their armies attacked Khemri (where his palace was)"
Nagash goes on to curse the river Vitae, killing all the inhabitants of nehekhara and cursing the dead for eternity.
Please, tell me now that Nagash was on Khemri's side:)
if nagash does become a leader for khemri i will be MOST dissapointed.
Ploeperpengel Jul 01, 2006, 08:20 PM Well civ is also about rewriting history. What would have been if Nagash won the war?
Psychic_Llamas Jul 01, 2006, 08:28 PM then the people of nehekhara would all be enslaved by an insane necromancer and he would turn them all into vampires. which would make 2 civs of vampires. i just dont see the logic:crazyeye:
Ploeperpengel Jul 01, 2006, 08:38 PM Is Settra sane in your oppinion?:D
Psychic_Llamas Jul 01, 2006, 08:53 PM :lol:more sane than Nagash. but seriously, just take a look at the Leaderhead of Nagash, thee leader heads of Settra and Khalida, and i think you will spot the difference.;)
Oh and in civ 3 was nagash part of Khemri there? i dont thinks so (unless it has changed;))
In conclusion, Nagash should not be part of the Khemri civ.(for reasons i have already argued about untill i was blue in the face.)
Ploeperpengel Jul 01, 2006, 09:05 PM Ok you're the Loremaster;)
Psychic_Llamas Jul 01, 2006, 09:12 PM yay! i win:D
ehem. *straightens tie*
(sorry about that guys, i just feel kinda strongly about the khemri, seeing as they are my 2nd favorite race in WH, and having a stinking necromancer like Nagash leading them just does not appeal to me;))
so anyway, back to Leaderhead art design and traits ...
Civmansam Jul 08, 2006, 01:44 PM I just got an idea that maybe instead of using picture leaderheads we could use Civ 3's warhammer mod leaderheads. Aren't they picture's too? And they all look similar unlike these.
Ploeperpengel Jul 08, 2006, 01:48 PM Have a look at the orcs there! No I think better not!
Scytale Jul 08, 2006, 03:16 PM I think it's time for a change too. While beeing pretty cool, the civ 3 WH mod leaderheads remind too much of civ3. I like the current leaderheads just fine :).
Ploeperpengel, they changed the orc lh with one that is super cool.
Ploeperpengel Jul 08, 2006, 03:29 PM is the patch out?
Scytale Jul 09, 2006, 04:09 AM No, but...the one in ver. 2.2 is very nice, better than the one made by Ed (I thought you were referring to that one) there is also an excellent Grimgor LH made by Grandraem.
DutchJunkie Jul 10, 2006, 01:17 AM yay! i win:D

I totally agree PL .. imo Nagash is a very important person in WH-history but it isn't suitable to put him in the game (maybe he can appear with an army as barbarian???) .. it's like putting Hitler in the regular civ-game as appropiate leader of the Germans .. maybe he was the leader once, but not for the good of his country ..
Duke van Frost Jul 10, 2006, 07:00 AM Anybody thinking that we should use this pic for Magnus instead of the one we got now:
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/507/digicwhintroconceptart020lu.th.jpg (http://img299.imageshack.us/my.php?image=digicwhintroconceptart020lu.jpg)
Ploeperpengel Jul 10, 2006, 07:29 AM If you can make him less comic like I wouldn't mind.
Duke van Frost Jul 10, 2006, 07:45 AM I´ll give it a try.
Psychic_Llamas Jul 11, 2006, 03:08 AM Oh thats perfect Duke! i love it!
Duke van Frost Jul 13, 2006, 07:21 AM I would suggest that we change the Leader of the Norse from Haargroth to Ragnar Lodbrok, because Haargroth is definitely Chaos!
We could take Haargroth as second Leader for Chaos.
Ploeperpengel Jul 13, 2006, 07:30 AM Ragnar is ok but lets keep Archaon as single Leader for chaos.
Duke van Frost Jul 13, 2006, 07:49 AM So, shall I change everything in the files to Ragnar then, or will you do it (as I said I´m working on the Pedia files right now)
Ploeperpengel Jul 13, 2006, 07:52 AM Do it please and pm Woodelf(diplostuff must be fixed too)
Psychic_Llamas Jul 19, 2006, 11:44 PM Yes! Please change Haargroth to Ragnar Lodbrok! ive asked that about 5 times and no one responded so i assumed no one like the idea. PLEASE PLEASE change him!
Duke van Frost Jul 20, 2006, 06:00 AM He´s already changed in my patches ;)
Psychic_Llamas Jul 20, 2006, 08:48 AM Yay :goodjob:;)
Duke van Frost Jul 21, 2006, 08:34 AM Here´s a preview of the pic that we could use as the new one for Magnus:
http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/8015/magnusneubj4.th.jpg (http://img47.imageshack.us/my.php?image=magnusneubj4.jpg)
Ploeperpengel Jul 21, 2006, 07:26 PM Hm not sure about this background. Shouldn't it be better something like a Palace or Cathedral?
Psychic_Llamas Jul 22, 2006, 01:03 AM Oooh... i really like it, perhaps do one with a big cathedral and we can choose from that? ut i really like it as it is now, good job Duke.
