Thanks, all the animations are completely new. I love the helmet too it's much better than the sturmtrooper's one.

What are you using to make these? This are wicked awesome, the attack just looks so powerful...

Honestly, these are better-than-game graphics.

You just gave me an idea Orthanc. Fan made versions of existing Civ3 units, sort of a "facelift" type thing if you know what I mean. Just an idea...

Great stuff again. I'm especially impressed by your death animations, which have just the right kind of "bounce" in the body and limbs. I've been trying to get these right and it's not easy.

Thanks, I'm using Poser 6 following utahjazz's tutorial.

I like the sturmtrooper death better, death animations are very hard to do, I've done a little frame list for them, following the original civ3 animations:
At frames 6 or 7 the soldier hip hits the ground. the hip bounces and at frame 8 or 9 the chest hit the ground at frame 12 the body is almost inmobile, some minor movement (foot, arms). For the gun is the same, the soldier drop the gun at frame 2, at frame 5 or 6 it hit the ground and bounces to the frame 11 or 12. I spend the same time doing the death that every other animation together.

This is a great unit. The animations are wonderfully natural looking and fluid. You've really gotten the hang of animating really quickly; it took me a lot longer to start making really quality units.

One question. Is the shadow on for the gunflash prop? In the preview it looks like the shadow jumps when the gunflash is visible.

That unit looks real good. It looks good enough to be a modern infantry unit as well (except for the gun of course). Afterall, many modern helments look like they were based of WWII German designs. Currently, my mod's modern infantry is the WWII paratrooper (who looks suprisingly modern in-game) but I may have to switch em.

Yeah, I thought of the WWII paratrooper as a 40k unit, but the huge backpack is annoying, otherwise the unit is cool and modern looking.

why not take Balou's "modern infantry" for a modern Infantry? As modern para I'd recommend his "parachutist"

I've allready done it. I used him to replace Firaxis' modern paratrooper, which in explicibly has a white jump suit. He looks more like a bond villian than a member of a modern Airborne Force.

Nevermind... I'm thinking of a different unit. I'm thinking of his desert Paratrooper recolor that I used to replace the paratrooper.

I actually had Balou's modern infantry as my modern infantry unit for a while. But I liked the goggles the WWII paratrooper had on his helment made the unit a bit better (reminds me of NVG googles) to me.

But also, I love that parachuiste unit. It's allready in my mod as a Special Forces soilder... basically a knights templar soilder for the modern ages.

The Forest Spetznaz unit (I forget who made it) was great as well.

That's cuz the original Spetznatz unit he made was in winter fatigue colours- then a "forest" (i.e. greenish) recolor was made...

Those are great units, but I think we could use more modern infantry units, just for the sake of diversity. Like a Soviet-bloc rifleman, for example, or modern Marine.

Thanks to all, I've been playing civ with my afrikacorps as flavor german marine in order to test it, and I'm very proud, I need to do more units!

One question. Is the shadow on for the gunflash prop? In the preview it looks like the shadow jumps when the gunflash is visible.

Thanks, about the question, I don't know if I understand it correctly, but I'll try to answer:
The Cast shadow option is disabled for the muzzleflash, The shadow of the ground jumps because I've placed a flashlight (a poser light) at the top of the gun pointing at the soldier, when the muzzle scale is 100% the light intensity is 300%, that's a lot of light so the shadow on the ground jumps. Hope that was your question.

Ilsa is less glamorous, it's an awful B series film (Z series). This is her wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilsa:_She-Wolf_of_the_SS).
