View Full Version : New Unit: Jaguar Commando(6/19/2006)
Sword_Of_Geddon Jun 19, 2006, 09:37 PM A modern day what-if Mesoamerican unit, based off of the "Jaguar Infantry" from Rise of Nations. Can also be used as a jungle based real-world soldier, like in Vietnam for example.

A big thankyou goes to Mosca as he generiously shared his attack animations with me.
psycow87 Jun 19, 2006, 09:42 PM Holy crap you work fast  This look really great. :goodjob:
odintheking Jun 19, 2006, 09:46 PM Great! It's nice to see unit makers working together, :D.
Sword_Of_Geddon Jun 19, 2006, 10:13 PM Glad you like it guys. I hope all my future units are of this quality.
ShiroKobbure Jun 19, 2006, 10:36 PM the clothes dont look like they are on. You know, when you comform clothing to a unit. You need to make all the properties to 0 except size. Like bend, twist, x trans ect. Or they dont fit right. also, download the skin for paperdoll and change parts of the skin so if his skin comes out through clothes it wont look so.
Sword_Of_Geddon Jun 20, 2006, 12:34 AM What cloths? I don't see anything wrong with it.
Sword_Of_Geddon Jun 20, 2006, 12:37 AM Wait i see what your talking about now. Thankyou Shiro, I'll keep that in mind when I use any of kinboat's pants props.
Supa Jun 20, 2006, 03:02 AM It looks very good. A little dark but I suppose it's supposed to be.
Iron Beagle Jun 20, 2006, 06:14 AM It's a soldier with some vegetation attached to his helmet, right?
W.i.n.t.e.r Jun 20, 2006, 07:53 AM hm, yes- grassy- shame one cannot see the helmet - what is that weird looking thing he wears over his upper legs, down to the knees?
Grandraem Jun 20, 2006, 12:40 PM Looks good. Nice attack.:)
Sword_Of_Geddon Jun 20, 2006, 12:52 PM Thankyou Grandraem:)
Mithadan Jun 20, 2006, 02:20 PM Cool idea. Not all "what if" units are cool, but this one is! :)
Stormrage Jun 20, 2006, 02:35 PM @Winter - those are his... pants..
Quinzy Jun 20, 2006, 03:12 PM i think they're.. whats the word...groins...no...grieves...something of that sort. its upper-leg armour.
Stormrage Jun 20, 2006, 03:15 PM :nope:, it just looks like grieves. Read the thread, those are pants ;)
Quinzy Jun 20, 2006, 03:19 PM quiet you, i'm making him an excuse... :D
Sword_Of_Geddon Jun 20, 2006, 03:34 PM I suppose they could be kevlar armor of some kind. :)
Goldflash Jun 20, 2006, 04:00 PM "What are you going to do? Put twigs in your hair, call your self the Wolverines and Fight off the Commies?"

Sword_Of_Geddon Jun 20, 2006, 04:15 PM lol....................................

Awww- sorry- guess I should have seen that :P nvm then
Bluemofia Jun 20, 2006, 05:39 PM Wow... Your units are getting better and better. Great job!
MoscaTnT Jun 20, 2006, 08:36 PM Your creation rate is amazing. I like the vegetation on his helmet and the animations also looks very good, the pants problem is unnoticeable.

I'm using the skin tip all the time, If you don't want to change the skin you can also asign different materials to the body parts.
You mignt also use the poser lignt I sent you, in order to get a more spectacular gun fire effect. Set the gun as lignt parent and get fun.
Un saludo
BadKharma Jun 20, 2006, 09:52 PM I think that would be a great improvement.

Haven't really experimented with lighting as of yet. That interduces a whole new diamension to unit making and alot more possibilities, I will experiment with it, but it may be awile before I use it to full effect.
Vuldacon Jun 23, 2006, 03:11 PM Sword_Of_Geddon...Nice work on this Unit. I like that you now have better recoil action and rifle flash. BTW, what type of ammo is he shooting? That Rifle Has a Mean Flash! :goodjob: Keep up the good work
Sword_Of_Geddon Jun 24, 2006, 12:54 AM thankyou for your kind words as always Vuldacon..:)
WildWeazel Jun 27, 2006, 01:55 PM Nice work SoG. This is your best unit yet IMO. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, may I request a version without the vegetation? I can never have too many modern infantry units running around New York City... :mischief:
