i tried to play Civ 3 and it keeps crashing i play for bout' 5-10min. i thought it was a one time thing but it happens over and over again. can somebody help me. it started happening to me after i edited the "civ3mod.bic" file

You might want to try reinstalling the game so you can restore that file. Then go ahead and make changes, but save them to a different file, or backup the civ3mod.bic file.

Once that's done, if you're still getting crashes, post the error messages in the Creation & Customization (http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=46) subforum, and people there will help you modify the game.

ive done that there are no error measages and nothing it just shuts down

You've reinstalled the game and it still happens?

Uninstall it again. Before resintalling, follow the directions on this page (http://www.atari.com/us/support/newfaq/civilizationiii.php?browser=1&issueNum=239&osType=WINXP&pageDisplay=MAIN#faq_prodissues). Then make sure all the Civ3 directories are deleted. See if that works.
