Yep Blender is free and powerful, but hard to learn, so dont expect it to be a walk in the park, But dont give up.

You did download Blender 2.41 version. It is an install exe file, so you should not have any problems with it, that I can see.

If you did not, and you downloaded another type, then you may need the Configuration file that Microsoft puts out. Usually on a computer like Windows 2K version 2 is on the computer -- or Update your Computer from Microsoft with those Critical Downloads or Net Framework downloads. If Windows XP, then that OS has its own version already when you get the OS.

Anyway, I would just download the Blender 2.41 Executable download version and then that will be probably all you need.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=889482fc-5f56-4a38-b838-de776fd4138c&DisplayLang=en

For Blender, make sure you are on the 2.41 version page of downloading it. I think the link is on the main page though.

Otherwise, try and state clearly what it is you are talking about. I had no problem with Blender, the only problem is learning to use it.

Don't download the *.zip file if that is what you did, and make sure you downloaded the *.exe file for Windows, since it is made for other OS's also.

Here, Go back to the download page and download from The Germany server, instead of US. Dont worry, no language change only where you get blender from. Soo if you get it from anything else but US, you will still ave the option to install in english.
