Does anyone know the rules of trading spouses? What is the thing about the money?
GoldEagle Jun 26, 2006, 11:14 AM She's Not A Christian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE IN JESUS' NAME I PRAY!!!
WHY DIDN'T YOU PRAY FOR ME!?!?!?!?!?
Haha, stupid Christian. What an idiot.
The mother of Family A chooses how Family B should spend Family B's money, and visa-versa.
Yuri2356 Jun 26, 2006, 11:31 AM :rotfl:
That's all that can be said.
puglover Jun 26, 2006, 06:44 PM I'm sure the Wife Swap team went out and purposely found the dumbest Christian they could.
Maniacal Jun 27, 2006, 02:29 AM I really want to know what religion the other family is. No further comment.
Till Jun 27, 2006, 08:40 AM This woman was like a train of yore doing a full stop with screeching brakes. So... massive and so loud!
Kan' Sharuminar Jun 27, 2006, 08:51 AM I'm sure the Wife Swap team went out and purposely found the dumbest Christian they could.
I'm faily certain they just try and find the most incompatable families they possibly can in order to get scenes like this. Really paid off this time.
This woman was like a train of yore doing a full stop with screeching brakes. So... massive and so loud!
I would say more like a train coming off the tracks, but the rest fits :D
cincybearsfan Jun 27, 2006, 10:12 AM Wow! Why would a real christian family do something like this? Most Biblical Christians (whether they be Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, etc..) tithe, or give a % of their income for God's kingdom (churchs, helping the poor, sponsering missionarys), so it is very odd that they would agree to having a non-christian have a say in their budget.
(I make the Biblical Christian qualifier since I have known many a Sunday morning specials...stand up and praise the lord in church, but not living in the discipline)
EDIT: It would be sort of funny if they paired a Hindu family with a Shi'a Muslim. Islam traditionally treats Christians and Jews with semi-muslim treatment (monotheistic, God of Abraham), but strongly dislikes polytheism.
Till Jun 27, 2006, 10:16 AM Even Christians can crave for attention, or whatever it is that makes people participate in these shows. :)

Your generic mix of new-age spiritual and Wicca. Hippies who're all grown up.
GoldEagle Jun 27, 2006, 10:40 AM Hpw retarded do you have to be to believe in "Wiccah"?
Kindly do not flame other posters. People have the right of believing whatver they want, and don't be offended for doing so. Warned.
Maniacal Jun 27, 2006, 01:01 PM I'm sure the Wife Swap team went out and purposely found the dumbest Christian they could.
This wasn't Wife Swap, I did watch Wife Swap last night, it had a wiccan family and a male dominated family, really interesting and I both families benefited, probably more so the Wiccan family.
pboily Jun 27, 2006, 05:08 PM Hpw retarded do you have to be to believe in "Wiccah"?
From the outside looking in, the average believer of any religion is just retarded enough to also believe in Wicca.

GW mentions bhudda flags so maybe the are either Bhuddist or perhaps wiccan. I don;t know.
GoldEagle Jun 28, 2006, 08:07 AM Wicca is primarily a religion, and although its adherents often identify as witches, Wicca and witchcraft are not necessarily the same thing.
Wiccans may worship a Goddess and/or a God; they observe the festivals of the eight Sabbats of the year and the full-moon Esbats; and they have a code of ethics that most live by. Wicca is thus generally considered to be distinct from witchcraft, which does not of itself imply any specific religious, ethical or ritual elements, and is practiced in various forms by people of many religions, as well as by atheists.
Wicca does, however, incorporate a specific form of witchcraft, with particular ritual forms, involving the casting of spells, herbalism, divination and other forms of magic. Wiccan ethics require that magical activities are limited to good purposes only.
According to Gerald Gardner, the religion derives from a secret but widespread witch-cult of early modern Europe, which incorporated all of the key religious beliefs and ideals and the distinctive ritual structures found in modern Wicca. While this historical interpretation is now much criticised, it makes it difficult to conclusively say whether Wicca is a religious form of witchcraft or a religion incorporating witchcraft.
While most Wiccans practice magic, a few do not, and do not identify as witches. Similarly, many Wiccans, though not all, call themselves Pagans, though the umbrella term Paganism encompasses many faiths that have nothing to do with Wicca or witchcraft.
It is commonly understood that most Wiccans worship two deities: the Goddess, often associated with Gaea or Mother Earth, and her consort the God (sometimes known as the Horned God). These two deities are usually thought of as equal complements to each other, and together represent all aspects of the universe. Depending on the tradition followed, the names of the God and Goddess vary widely, usually based on mythological figures. A few examples might be Cernunnos and Brigit from Celtic mythology or Hecate, Lugh, Diana and many others. Some Wiccans simply refer to them as "The God and The Goddess". There are also Wiccan groups that acknowledge a unified supreme godhead. Usually referred to just as The One (such as in Scott Cunningham's "Wicca: A Guide to the Solitary Practitioner), it has also been called Dryghten in Patricia Crowther's 1974 book "Witch Blood!".
The partnership of the Wiccan Goddess and God is generally viewed as dynamic and complementary, with neither dominating, however in some traditions, such as Dianic Wicca, the Goddess alone is worshipped. In those traditions, the God plays either no role, or a diminished role.
A significant number of Wiccans from various traditions do not claim to be dualist, but practice some form of polytheism, often with particular reference to the Celtic pantheons. They may also be animists, pantheists, or indeed anywhere within the broad spectrum of Neopagan forms of worship.
I probably should've read up on it before saying everything I did. That mother definitely overreacted...supposedly, they only do their magic for good. They were basically just overgrown hippies.
GeorgeOP Jun 28, 2006, 09:52 AM That was Trading Spouses, a show I watch a lot. Very funny/sad episode that shows why so many people dislike Christian hypocrates. However the Hippie Mom did help the youngest daughter feel better about herself during this episode.

Come on! I've never met a Christian OR an atheist as nutty as this woman. She doesn't like wiccah or buddhism, fine, but what a crazy reaction she had, attention whore I bet.

Most Catholics don't get that worked up about their faith. Besides, Catholicism teaches tolerance.

If you founded a religion and wanted to attract members, would you say "Oh we use our powers for good and evil mostly, but you can do whatever." :p
