Just wanted to post a screenshot of my unfished color corrections the CivIII graphics.

I have changed grasslands, ocean, and tundra as well as rivers and forests. However, I may change any one of them in the future as I go along.

BTW, I wanna get some catuses for the desert. If anyone thinks they can draw some let me know. Also, a good oasis resource would be nice (other than the one already available).

looks good so far.

which oasis resource did you look at? i believe there are at least three out there.

mine (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15963)

plutarck's (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=176848&t=5064#post176848) available with the LWC mod

and I think there is one more but I can't remember who made it.

Actually yours is very close to what I am looking for, but on the desert it sticks out like a sore thumb... It doesn't blend into the terrain quite right. (You know, it doesn't look like a natural part of the desert)
I also like the tree from the LWC mod, but of course that's not an oasis.

How do you think you'd do at drawing some cactuses or whatnot to put on the desert?

I could do that.

Do you think it would help if the oasis were shrunk down a bit?

the image was made by taking a screen shot of the desert inthe game with a lake in it and putting some shrubberies around it.

The problem is it has a red outline around the oasis.
Perhaps it's something in my version or is it normally like that?

And yeah, perhaps shrinking it might look better.
Of course I don't have time now to try it out.

the red outline is a problem. one that I can easily fix. I hadn't actually seen the oasis in a game yet, so I wasn't aware of it. It probably doesn't need to be shrunk if the outline is gone.

thanks for bringing that to my attention.

the pic.

So when will you be done with the new gfx? I really like the floodplane rivers. Or is that the norm?
I use various gfx when i play. So i,ve never seen the orininals (or ever looked at them).

Done?
How about Never? :)
Really, I have no idea if and when. I just look at it as I go along, see what can be changed and try to find the best color. Sometimes I go back and redo what I already did. Like right now, I'm thinking of tweaking and editing some more things.

As for the rivers and floodplains, yes they are edited.

Would it be possible for you to post them? Or send them to me?

here is a new version of my resource images. I have gotten rid of that annoying pink edge.

I have added a few more since the last version in order to offer some choices.

these include:
lumber
an image of the cattle with a sheep and a pig
corn
moose
walrus
pheasant
bison
crab
pearl

Kevin Ar18,

I haven't put together the cactus and the desert yet, but I will hopefully do that tomorrow and have that up soon.

what about a camel resource?

Perhaps, if you can make it look like a camel. It's all gonna depend on how it works into the game, and how realistic it seems, etc....

Any luck on some cactuses Kal-el?

sorry,

been busy. :)

I actually have them but was wondering, do you just want the cactuses and you can place them or do you want them already placed? I can also give you skeletal remains (ribs and cattle skull) if you are interested.

Did you check out the camel resource over in my more resources (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15963) thread?

Just the cactuses, but if you want to send it alread on a piece of terrain as an example that'd help

Also, if you made them in 24bit color then send it as a 24bit color bitmap and I'll scale down to 256 colors after editing them.

Perhaps some shrubbery might be nice as well, but it'd have to be really small.

Thanks for the help and I'll look at that site you gave me later on.

I can't decide whether to keep the hills brown or change them to green.

I have been playing with them greeen, however, I'm not sure I'm satisfied with that.

I'll try the cactuses out and see how they look -- thanks.

Did you get the images from somewhere?

If so I'd be interested in know where. I'm thinking more along the lines of scrub brush, rocks, and cactuses.

What I would really like is an option to make more terrain types :). Then we could put desert with sand dunes in it.

I'm guessing this project is dead. :p Oh well, it was kinda cool. :p

I still have the files and I've changed some of them as well. I made one with grey mountains, and one with green hills, but I actually found the brown hills with green grass to be kind of nice.

Does that mean you are still going to work on the project, or that it is finished? I am still interested in the finished work.

It's true that I stopped working on it, but I'll go ahead and attach what I got.

Maybe some of you will like it.

P.S. Read the readme to see what to install (and to see the credits and all :)).

How are you try to upload it? What extension are you using for the name?

You can always send it to TF to upload if you can't get it to.

Good idea.

It's my filter causing the problem.
