I recently won a domination victory on Monarch/Pangea/Standard by a narrow margin. That vixen Catherine was only one or two parts short of a space victory when my armor, SAM's, and planes brought her down. This experience made me realize I had not thought through the best strategies to use in this context. The following occurred to me:

-maximize military pressure to force AI to divert production from space parts to military units

-pillage copper and alumninum used in buiilding some space parts

-build space elevator to deny it to AI [often not possible if AI has tech lead due to your warring]

-raise buckets of money to allow spies to sabotage space parts

Any other suggestions?

Since many of the AI seemed incliined to pursue a space victory and many human players pursue domination strategies, I suspect this may be an important late game strategy question in an evenly matched game.

While conquerers often don't have any - bribe your friends to war. It will slow the overall tech-pace and SS-construction.

Key i think to any conquest/domination victory on the higher levels is getting it done early so the AI can't get too much of a tech lead on you.
