I am trying different World Types and I wish to play the "New World" as described in the manual. Would this be Terra?

Yes, Terra is a fun map, but those new cities on the New World are expensive!

new world is a blast.

Just like a pangea map to begin -- but then you send off a caravel to find another continent about half the size of the old world, totally populated by barbs. They'll have cities of 12-20 population, and your first landing units will be swarmed. By the time I usually make it to the new world, they'll be producing grenadiers and riflemen.
