View Full Version : i suck... need help.. im so slow...
jokks Jun 30, 2006, 04:52 AM i have really no idea.... i m still a noobie anywayz..... in the start of the game... my opponment has 2 town already + archers and workers.. etc etc.. but me... just have one time... building my first worker.... any ideas how to fasten this??
taillesskangaru Jun 30, 2006, 04:56 AM What level are you playing? The Ai gets free units at the beginning on harder levels (1 workrs on monarch, 2 on immortal etc)
jokks Jun 30, 2006, 05:00 AM i c.... im playing the diety level...
taillesskangaru Jun 30, 2006, 05:18 AM Hmmm...in that case I can't help you, as I'm only worthy for noble-prince level. The Ai gets a free settler on deity, as well as additional tech, units etc which makes them a few centuries ahead of the player.
jokks Jun 30, 2006, 05:20 AM ok..... tanx.... ill just play prince difficulty from now on.. :)
Tomb. Jun 30, 2006, 05:26 AM as noob, you shouldn't play deity, try settler instead.
Killroyan Jun 30, 2006, 05:27 AM All I can say is even when you were a pro at former CIV games where you beat the highest difficulty levels it is best to start at noble again with part IV. In my first game I got my ass handed to me because there were too many things I didn't understand. Now starting at a much higher level where the AI gets so much extra advantages is a real challenge so I guess you did the right thing and went back to prince level which is a very good challenge.
pigswill Jun 30, 2006, 05:49 AM I'd agree that if you've played previous versions of Civ noble would probably be the level to start. If you're completly new to civ then start with tutorial and have a game at settler. If that's too easy go up to warlord to get used to the basics. Higher levels are obviously tougher and it can be disheartening to start on a losing streak.
voek Jun 30, 2006, 07:53 AM Lol, I hope you don't play the way you write. Just start with settler difficulty.:goodjob:
Gumbolt Jun 30, 2006, 11:50 AM I started at settler and went up. To be precise i played the demo then moved up a level. Played one game on each up to monarchy and settled. Mind you i did a lot of forum reading before playing. Get the start right and your game play follows.
Sid the Lucid Jun 30, 2006, 06:42 PM i have really no idea.... i m still a noobie anywayz.....

Elrohir Jun 30, 2006, 10:02 PM If you've played a lot of Civ games before, (Civ 1, 2 or 3) or you're very good at strategy games, start at Noble. Otherwise, I would suggest Settler.
Jokks, I've been playing this game for six months, and I have trouble on Monarch - I would be slaughtered on Diety. No wonder you're having trouble, that's the single hardest difficult level! Knock it down to at least Noble, then give it a shot, K? It's a fun game, you just need to find what level you're good at, then work your way up.
Pantastic Jul 01, 2006, 02:38 PM Wait, are you guys saying that the game is very hard when you set it to the hardest difficulty level? WTF was Firaxis thinking, I want a game that's easy on the hardest level and hard on the easiest, I'm returning my copy today.
BCLG100 Jul 01, 2006, 02:42 PM I found Settler a hindrance-better of starting at warlord or something.
