I just got Civ4 from the mac in the mail today.

I have been playing (too much) on a Athlon64 2400+ with an nvidia 256 mb 6800GT. Civ 4 rocks on this machine - well after all the initial video driver bugs were worked out.

I have 2 macs - an iMac G5 and a 2ghz Intel Core duo Macbook Pro. Results follow:

iMac G5 1.9Ghz, 1.5 MB Ram, 128 mb ATI Radeon x600 Pro:
Opening video choppy.
Sound cut out a little.
Creating game took a while - I never knew that the opening creation screen was narrated before trying it on this machine ;-)
Zoom/Map scroll was sluggish

2 Ghz Intel Core Duo, 2GB Ram, 256MB ATI Radeon x1600
Opening video normal
Sound Fine
Creating game pretty fast.
Zoom/Map scroll good.

More details to follow as a I play more........

I'd like to know how the PC version of Civ IV plays in Bootcamp?

I am waiting until I play a little more before posting details (I confess, I started playing "just one more turn" last night on the pc to feed my addiction)

but to clarify to girtholomew -
Although the sound works on the macbook, it is limited to the voice overs. There seems to be no ambient sound like in the pc. It makes the game seem less alive. But playable.

On the iMac, even the voiceovers cut out at times. It is basically unplayable on the iMac g5 - but I have not tried it in windowed mode yet nor have I tweaked any settings off the default.

I am still hopeful Aspyr will work out some of these issues.

Excellent. I have a 2GHz MacBook, 2GB RAM, 64MB GMA 950, and teh Windows version runs great. No sound issues, all the videos play great, it is fast, and very little late game slowdown. I have it at 1280x800, and all the settings at high. So from what I've heard, the Mac version doesn't live up to teh PC version in performance, though I haven't heard any reports from MacBook (not Pro) owners yet.
