Atari is cool, so is NES, and SNES, and then there are all the Sega systems. Wasn't there a poll like this done in the All Other Games forum? Or am I thinking of something else?

Some of them are a bit busted however.

I've still got a working SNES in my wardrobe:D

I don't own any other consoles though, and have no intention of buying any more, that's what housemates with Gamecubes are for:D

No consoles. If an electronic game isn't made available for computers, it's not worth it.

My very first console: 1977 or 1978: Pong. It had four different available pong games which you could play against others.

Next: Some gadget with a piston that you drew and shot at the TV.

Last: Atari 2600.

I have a Japanese PS2.

PS2, NES, SEGA, ATARI, N64, and I think SNES. There is a Gamecube in the house. I only use my PC and PS2.

A PC is good for gaming, but there are not very many quality titles for the PC that I am interested in (I would appreciate if nobody lists all the PC games they've ever played in retaliation, we have different tastes). My gamecube holds F-Zero GX in it which is probably the single most awesome racing game ever, so that takes the cake.

That game was the most totally awesome game, and the first game i can honestly say i was addicted to. So much fun blowing up all the other cars...

right now i use ps2 the slim version. COmputer used to be my choice but then the games began to require more hardrive space, better graphics cards more mem and all that bs. i use ps2 now and i love it, especially online.

that thing isnt worth it, you have to continuously download updates, and u have to pay for Xbox LIve, which is the only thing that makes it worthwhile. Also its made by Microsoft:mad:

I Don't have consoles any more, but when I was kid I had NES and SNES. Computers Are so much better than consoles. You can do much more with one than play games. I voted for the last one that means you don't have one right.

Ok I understand this is a site for one of the most popular PC games that never appeared on a console, but I jst need to say that IMO Consoles are way better than PCs for all games except strategy games.
-consoles run any game made for it and each unit runs it equally.
-no installation, just pop in and start playing.
-controllers>keyboards. And yes I know PCs can have gamepads, but they still aren't really as good.
-Consoles get plenty of awesome non-PC games like Burnout, Halo 2, MGS3, Mario, etc.
-patches are rare so games are actually finnished on release.
-all games online games let you host a game without renting a server or any of that.

Again, its just my opinion that consoles are better for gaming (although obviously not for other stuff.) I still enjoy my PC its exclusive games though, and Spore may actually be more anticipated than any console game for me.

i agree with you there, consoles are much better for gaming. Computer games face so many specifications, its hard to find the perfect computer. But with a console, take ps2 for instance, they are all the same, run at the smae speed, no modifications and money is needed other than the purchase price.

I used to think that too until Civ4 came out and illustrated just how out of control unfinished PC releases are.

Import gaming for console is the way to go for all you strategy lovers out there. There is a big misconception in North America especially the US that good strategy games don't exist on consoles. These uninformed masses should look at what Japanese console gamers have to choose from when it comes to great strategy titles for PS2, PSP.

Fire Emblem is a great example of the kind of thing Moff is talking about.
There was a North American release of the first one on NES, but then they skipped to 6&7 for the GBA - N64 got the next, and it wasn't until Gamecube came along that another FE came out. Meanwhile, Japan has had over 20 FE games and gaiden games.

I have a standard GB, GBC, and GBA. Funny thing is, I only have GB games. >_< This is what you get when you ask for handhelds for Christmas and you can't afford to buy games yourself.
Otherwise, new-fangled junk, all of it. Super Smash Bros. for the N64 was good, and I heard SSBM put the original to shame (oddly enough), so I guess the Cube has a purpose.
I own a working Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis, SNES, and PS1 (or maybe it's a PSX - it's the compact one with no reset button). I also have a PS2 that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.

Consoles won't really make a comeback until the Revolution (Wii) comes out. Backwards-compatible with all things Nintendo (PS3? Doesn't support PS1 games - the PS2 didn't fail because there was FFX and backwards-compatibility for PS1 games...PS2 games suck), and it's looking like a kickass lineup of games to go with a powerful console with a new, fun input system (yet you can still also use a normal controller - good on Nintendo for not fragging the oldschool controller).

I have a PS2 and a Gamecube. I could never understand the PC vs Consoles thing. Oh well, fanboys will be fanboys. In the meantime, I'll enjoy the best of both worlds.
