Wasn't there a poll like this done in the All Other Games forum? Or am I thinking of something else? Tycoon101 Jul 06, 2006, 02:41 PM Long Live the N64! This is in the wrong forum, and this poll has been done dozens of times. By the way- You put Xbox twice in the poll. s.c.dude Jul 06, 2006, 02:47 PM anybody know how to mod a poll IglooDude Jul 06, 2006, 02:47 PM By oldie I thought he meant Pong. IglooDude Jul 06, 2006, 02:48 PM anybody know how to mod a poll Ask a mod to mod it. Kan' Sharuminar Jul 06, 2006, 02:48 PM the only cool oldie is the ps1:D plus the atari 2600 is the only other one i know:blush: PS1 is an oldie now? You made me feel old :( Dawgphood001 Jul 06, 2006, 02:48 PM SNES, N64, Gamecube, Playstation 1, Sega Genesis. Some of them are a bit busted however. colony Jul 06, 2006, 02:52 PM I've still got a working SNES in my wardrobe:D And a PS1, the big chunky old one, none of this small, thin, skinny rubbish:p I don't own any other consoles though, and have no intention of buying any more, that's what housemates with Gamecubes are for:D ffman Jul 06, 2006, 02:56 PM Right now: PS2, GC, and SNES. But, I've had: Xbox PS N64 Gameboy Gameboy Advance DS Genesis Dreamcast Mathilda Jul 06, 2006, 03:04 PM I don't have any, my kids have PS2 and Gamecube though. And luckily I don't have a yard :) CivGeneral Jul 06, 2006, 03:10 PM I only have PSP at the moment. Also, I still perfer the good olde Sega Genesis and SNES ;). You kids are messing up my lawn with your fancy gizmos :p. Masquerouge Jul 06, 2006, 03:20 PM I have a PS2, a GBA and a DS Lite, plus a PC of course :) I'm still not sure about which next-gen I'll buy, though... Choices, choices :) .Shane. Jul 06, 2006, 03:32 PM A computer is far superior to a console. Yep, pc games only. VRWCAgent Jul 06, 2006, 03:34 PM No consoles. If an electronic game isn't made available for computers, it's not worth it. My very first console: 1977 or 1978: Pong. It had four different available pong games which you could play against others. Next: Some gadget with a piston that you drew and shot at the TV. Last: Atari 2600. BCLG100 Jul 06, 2006, 03:36 PM got an xbox and gameboy varient, i voted for the first xbox option because i saw no reason for the second one :) Till Jul 06, 2006, 03:53 PM SNES, even though i have been thinking about buying a PS1 to play Tekken3. TheDervish Jul 06, 2006, 04:05 PM I have a Japanese PS2. Zarn Jul 06, 2006, 04:20 PM PS2, NES, SEGA, ATARI, N64, and I think SNES. There is a Gamecube in the house. I only use my PC and PS2. Syterion Jul 06, 2006, 05:27 PM A PC is good for gaming, but there are not very many quality titles for the PC that I am interested in (I would appreciate if nobody lists all the PC games they've ever played in retaliation, we have different tastes). My gamecube holds F-Zero GX in it which is probably the single most awesome racing game ever, so that takes the cake. My gamecube holds F-Zero GX in it which is probably the single most awesome racing game ever, so that takes the cake. nintendo has f zero x and that was fairly awesome, i just forever played that race where you spent the majority battering crap into the other 30 or so cars Kozmos Jul 06, 2006, 05:56 PM Piii Ess Wan! azzaman333 Jul 06, 2006, 05:58 PM nintendo has f zero x and that was fairly awesome, i just forever played that race where you spent the majority battering crap into the other 30 or so cars That game was the most totally awesome game, and the first game i can honestly say i was addicted to. So much fun blowing up all the other cars... I have a working Gameboy Colour, a working Gameboy advance, a Nintendo 64 which might still work, a Gamecube which wont work, and a PS2 which is my younger brothers. Azale Jul 06, 2006, 05:59 PM Ok lets see....NES, SNES, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, N64, PC Kozmos Jul 06, 2006, 06:01 PM Well the PC is really great due to its *cough* emulative *cough* capabilities. Global Nexus Jul 06, 2006, 06:38 PM Heh...the poll's really odd. Xbox is on there twice. Anyway, here's a list of all consoles and handhelds I own: NES II, GameBoy (original), Sega Genesis, Super NES, Game Boy Color, Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo DS. Systems I used to own: Atari 2600, NES (original), PlayStation. Systems and handhelds I plan to get within the next year (NOT in order, mind you): PlayStation Portable, Microsoft Xbox, Wii. Chaos_BF1942 Jul 06, 2006, 06:45 PM Genesis DreamCast Gamecube X-Box PS2 Neo Geo Pocket Gameboy Color GBA SP DS PSP and the best of all PC leonel Jul 06, 2006, 07:32 PM Gamecube and DS. However I would trade my Gamecube for a PS2 instead. homeyg Jul 06, 2006, 07:59 PM Consoles suck!!! Computer games are the only ones even worth playing. And quit posting these garbage threads! Perfection Jul 06, 2006, 09:12 PM I've got an Etch-A-Sketch, where's the poll option for that? The Yankee Jul 06, 2006, 09:40 PM Moved to All Other Games. Drool4Res-pect Jul 07, 2006, 10:20 AM G.C. + D.S. I have no time to talk! Too busy! polyphemus Jul 08, 2006, 12:29 AM right now i use ps2 the slim version. COmputer used to be my choice but then the games began to require more hardrive space, better graphics cards more mem and all that bs. i use ps2 now and i love it, especially online. puglover Jul 08, 2006, 10:22 AM I've never actually owned a console. But really, I've found that they're only superior to computers if you have friends over. Kan' Sharuminar Jul 08, 2006, 12:00 PM I've never actually owned a console. But really, I've found that they're only superior to computers if you have friends over. QFT, I will concede that point. Nothing comes close to a grand multiplayer match of some sort - Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Battlefront - on a console. Multiplayer on PC is great, but it misses the social element of a half dozen friends shouting at a screen :D Rheinmetall Jul 08, 2006, 01:29 PM SNES, even though i have been thinking about buying a PS1 to play Tekken3. That is the only sensible reason to have PS1. I have PS1 only for Tekken3. :goodjob: Till Jul 08, 2006, 01:41 PM That is the only sensible reason to have PS1. I have PS1 only for Tekken3. :goodjob: I'm currently using an emulator, which actually enhances gameplay a bit, as you can control how fast the game will run. puglover Jul 11, 2006, 12:48 PM Nothing comes close to a grand multiplayer match of some sort - Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Battlefront - on a console. Multiplayer on PC is great, but it misses the social element of a half dozen friends shouting at a screen :D Yeah. Computer multiplayer is very lame compared to a console. Nuclear kid Jul 11, 2006, 01:06 PM Sweet! Im the first one to say I have an Xbox 360 :D polyphemus Jul 11, 2006, 01:10 PM that thing isnt worth it, you have to continuously download updates, and u have to pay for Xbox LIve, which is the only thing that makes it worthwhile. Also its made by Microsoft:mad: Cube4 Jul 11, 2006, 02:44 PM I Don't have consoles any more, but when I was kid I had NES and SNES. Computers Are so much better than consoles. You can do much more with one than play games. I voted for the last one that means you don't have one right. Thisnameislame Jul 11, 2006, 11:17 PM Ok I understand this is a site for one of the most popular PC games that never appeared on a console, but I jst need to say that IMO Consoles are way better than PCs for all games except strategy games. -consoles run any game made for it and each unit runs it equally. -no installation, just pop in and start playing. -controllers>keyboards. And yes I know PCs can have gamepads, but they still aren't really as good. -Consoles get plenty of awesome non-PC games like Burnout, Halo 2, MGS3, Mario, etc. -patches are rare so games are actually finnished on release. -all games online games let you host a game without renting a server or any of that. Again, its just my opinion that consoles are better for gaming (although obviously not for other stuff.) I still enjoy my PC its exclusive games though, and Spore may actually be more anticipated than any console game for me. polyphemus Jul 12, 2006, 12:55 AM i agree with you there, consoles are much better for gaming. Computer games face so many specifications, its hard to find the perfect computer. But with a console, take ps2 for instance, they are all the same, run at the smae speed, no modifications and money is needed other than the purchase price. Moff Jerjerrod Jul 12, 2006, 05:58 AM A computer is far superior to a console. I used to think that too until Civ4 came out and illustrated just how out of control unfinished PC releases are. Import gaming for console is the way to go for all you strategy lovers out there. There is a big misconception in North America especially the US that good strategy games don't exist on consoles. These uninformed masses should look at what Japanese console gamers have to choose from when it comes to great strategy titles for PS2, PSP. Red Door Jul 12, 2006, 08:11 AM I have a PlayStation2. Avelon Jul 22, 2006, 08:08 AM Fire Emblem is a great example of the kind of thing Moff is talking about. There was a North American release of the first one on NES, but then they skipped to 6&7 for the GBA - N64 got the next, and it wasn't until Gamecube came along that another FE came out. Meanwhile, Japan has had over 20 FE games and gaiden games. I have a standard GB, GBC, and GBA. Funny thing is, I only have GB games. >_< This is what you get when you ask for handhelds for Christmas and you can't afford to buy games yourself. Otherwise, new-fangled junk, all of it. Super Smash Bros. for the N64 was good, and I heard SSBM put the original to shame (oddly enough), so I guess the Cube has a purpose. I own a working Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis, SNES, and PS1 (or maybe it's a PSX - it's the compact one with no reset button). I also have a PS2 that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Consoles won't really make a comeback until the Revolution (Wii) comes out. Backwards-compatible with all things Nintendo (PS3? Doesn't support PS1 games - the PS2 didn't fail because there was FFX and backwards-compatibility for PS1 games...PS2 games suck), and it's looking like a kickass lineup of games to go with a powerful console with a new, fun input system (yet you can still also use a normal controller - good on Nintendo for not fragging the oldschool controller). Mr Moron Jul 22, 2006, 04:38 PM I have a PS2 and a Gamecube. I could never understand the PC vs Consoles thing. Oh well, fanboys will be fanboys. In the meantime, I'll enjoy the best of both worlds. |
