Looks like the game isn't balanced very well - team red seems to dominate.

The teams have no impact other then the fact that you should build up trades with your own "team" for a slight bonus to happines. It's just that the NPO, the biggest alliance is red.

My taxe rate is 20%. Haven't bothered to change it. I'm not sure how the foreign aid thing works. Maybe the older nations could help the poorer alliance members?

Here's the trick, before you collect your taxes. Open two windows up, one for 'edit your nation', the page where you change your tax rate, and another of the 'collect taxes' page. Just change your tax rate, and refresh the other page, and see how much taxes per citizen you will be getting. Go through all of them before you click 'collect taxes'. ;)

Well, maybe back in the day it was free to be a different color but now you have to be red to be in the NPO.

Also, once you set up your forums and charter ect. the New Polar Order(strongest alliance on Blue with 200+ members) would like to possibly establish diplomatic relations with CFC.

Its your team, when you trade with another nation in your same team you get +1 happiness.

I am on blue team currently trading with 4 blue team players. So I get a +4 happiness. I will leave blue team if a CFC alliance pops up but I don't think I will leave until the end of this week when I am done taxing my peoples.

I won't get as much back. Besides i simply have to wait before the density becomes high in the past few days it has already climbed about 25%. Once it reaches near 70 per square mile then its time to buy buy buy!

I confess these "teams" are confusing. They claim that it isn't supposed to be the same as an alliance, that team really should only have bearing on trade and happiness, but that doesn't seem to be how it really plays out.

Since it does indeed seem to be that team = alliance, I finally decided to join blue team and sent a small amount of foreign aid to an orange team with the following message: Switch to blue and more foreign aid will be forthcoming. Don't switch and you may be invaded. :)

I had my first war today. Got ffwhooped too. No gains even in the equiptment the enemy left behind. He attacked with about 75 troops to my 50. I lost like 36 and he lost about 9. :lol:

We declared peace though and I have not only recovered but have a nation strength above his right now on DEFCON 3, while he is at DEFCON 1. Although he may be stronger again tomorrow. :p

It is all % based. I actually had 0% chance of winning in my war. Also technically, everyone is your neigbor. The map thing is only for fun and plays no relevance to the game. If your country is in Spain, someone from Alaska can attack you just as easily as someone from another city in Spain.

At this point I am just hoping I don't get nuked "just because" or even have missles fired on me in general.Its kind of scary being tiny.

I would declare peace or get out. NPO is vastly outnumbered and overpowered. If you like I can tell the other nations in my alliance not to attack you, but I have no power whatsoever over ODN, LUE, or any of the other 12 alliances at war with the NPO.

I'm not at war with anybody right now, but if the NPO is indeed losing, it might be the time to become neutral again.

This may have been passed up by Till's and My one-on-one conversation. I entered a war against the NPO along side my allies, and I fear that the battles are turning against me since my enemy is nearing the technological level it needs to gain the use of tanks.

Southern Illinois will accept any loan for any amount. We are also in dire need of soldiers and technology! If you do send us foreign aid, you do not need my permission on this thread to send it, just send it and I will accept it.

I have joined The Legion and they are neutral in this whole NPO vs LUE war. I think they are one of the mayor alliances, and will probably become nr#1 after the war.

Greens are the GGA. It would be a good move to become Green, I am Green and in the GGA. Definently join us, we have a policy that you cannot attack anyone unless attacked first, and if you are attacked first, that nation will be covered in hellfire missiles in no time.

War definently has its advantages if you pick on a nation that is weak and is in no alliance. So I suggest joining an alliance if only for mutual defense.

I like to keep my soldiers around 70% of my working population, not enough to make my populace mad, but more than enough to deter(sp?) any attacks.

The soldiers sound amazing. Monetary aid would help even more to relieve the pressure on maintenance costs of the soldiers and increase my population's happiness since those 110 would put me over the 80% limit.

OK, I'm joining this game. Look for the Possum Kingdom. I'm not currently in any team, but will join one if you convince me its the best.

Also, any suggestions for strategy to start out with?

I'm looking to help make an impact, but I don't want to weaken my nation by being too hasty.

EDIT: Didn't realize that location didn't affect wars. Probably should have stuck my nation in my hometown, instead. I guess that's impossible to change...

The first thing you should do is
1. buy infrastructure
2. join an allaince that offers a start-up package (mine-IRON- gave me 10,000 dollars)
3. start trading- I would recommend that you you trade for resources that give you either pop count, pop hapiness, or increased citizen income (you can find out about resources in cybernation wiki at the left colomn under howto play and then resources)

I am only 19 days old- but that is pretty much the standard way to start for everyone.

I no longer need soldiers since the war with the NPO is over. With my alliance/coalition winning.
