View Full Version : [OT] Champions Of The World!!!! Rhye Jul 09, 2006, 08:15 PM No time for losers cause we are the champions... http://rhye.civfanatics.net/files/20c2.jpg Gunner Jul 09, 2006, 08:57 PM That was a pretty great game. Congrats to Italy :king: SilverKnight Jul 09, 2006, 11:30 PM Congratulazioni! Italy is the :king: of soccer, and Rhye is the :king: of mods. It will be a good year... [party] SilverKnight V. Soma Jul 10, 2006, 12:50 AM This world cup was definitely about Italy, it was their tale... :) Congratulations! :goodjob: cece84 Jul 10, 2006, 01:59 AM we won it!!!!! :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: oww, now it's really time to sleep after yesterday night... :mischief: brazil, we are coming! (see in 2010!) Blasphemous Jul 10, 2006, 02:16 AM That was a pretty great game. Congrats to Italy :king: Actually the game was pretty lousy for the most part (yes, I actually watched), except for the beginning and the penalty kicks. They all just seemed so tired after the first twenty minutes... Germany-Portugal was a better game. But I was definately glad to see Italy win yesterday. Grats. :) Riker Jul 10, 2006, 07:55 AM you cannot lose while you have Grosso geebo Jul 10, 2006, 10:00 AM AZZURRI CAMPIONI DEL MONDO!!!! need i say more? Lachlan Jul 10, 2006, 11:33 AM It's well done for this bastard of Zizou ... ;) Zizou is a big pig full of money ... This thing did seem helped to be best ;) Congrats to Italy :goodjob: ! Italy = white team Lachlan Jul 10, 2006, 12:19 PM I say more : Congrats to Metarazzi to have kicked Zizou ! The Italian team is really an Italian team :goodjob: Poor ourselves French with a foreign team who is "represent" us ... I'm not racist, that them who are rioted in our cities ! I was affraid by the time, i has difficulty to sleep by night Riker Jul 10, 2006, 12:43 PM Camoranesi is not properly Italian, but he is ONE. The French team is an african team, very representative... dh_epic Jul 10, 2006, 08:39 PM I'm very very proud of Italy having won the World Cup. Where I'm from, there's LOTS of Italians in this city. We shut it down -- partied damn hard! (I have no problem with Algerians playing on the French team. It makes sense, as far as their history goes.) Rhye Jul 11, 2006, 02:44 AM I have no problem of any kind with a "black" team. After all, we know very well that France had a lot of colonies, and most of them are actually 100% French now. However I can apologize a French person who may see his team as weird as the % of them is so overrapresented compared to the population Bolleque Jul 11, 2006, 03:04 AM But what is the problem as long as they play good? If Black French plays better than White French - they should play. This is the market :) Lachlan Jul 11, 2006, 05:32 AM Ok ok i accept myself your explanations :mischief: But like around the world not all love foot ... Rossiya Jul 11, 2006, 08:54 AM I say more : Congrats to Materazzi to have kicked Zizou ! The Italian team is really an Italian team :goodjob: Poor ourselves French with a foreign team who is "represent" us ... I'm not racist, that them who are rioted in our cities ! I was affraid by the time, i has difficulty to sleep by night the media in england has completely overlooked the french-african team saga. all we hear from france is that every french person stil loves zidane. it's nice to know that that's not the case. EDIT: does anyone know if there is a name given to that chant that the italian fans do? it sounds like the beginning of that white stripes song. Otto I Jun 01, 2008, 03:39 PM Will they be Champions of Europe too? Good luck to the Azzurri! Given the current political climate, Italy-Romania is going to be a very tense match, don't you think Rhye? :) Down with xenophobia! Hurray for Romania! :) coko Jun 02, 2008, 10:01 AM dear god...stop this...France we will anyway. dionysos2048 Jun 02, 2008, 02:02 PM I can't believe the amount of bullsht in that thread. A huge majority of French love Zidane, even though he fcked it up. As for the amount of blacks, all those players ARE French, 2 or 3 were born outside France and moved to France when they were kids. Besides, France is a country with a long and big tradition of immigration. If you only look at football, it goes back a very long way, with Kopa, Platini, Tigana, Fernandez... so this is the best thing that can happen to a country in which someone like Le Pen came once second in the elections. As for the Eurocup, there's about half of the teams qualified that can actually win it, with no clear favourite. Churchill's Hat Jun 02, 2008, 03:02 PM Please don't bump old threads and somebody close this thread. Carolingian Jun 02, 2008, 04:55 PM Please don't bump old threads  "Please don't bump this thread" Isn't that self- contradictory? Rossiya Jun 02, 2008, 05:47 PM Camoranesi is not properly Italian, but he is ONE. The French team is an african team, very representative... Camoranesi is ethnically Italian. I consider him a proper Italian just as any other Italian citizen. Harrier Jun 02, 2008, 07:04 PM :mischief: Besides, France is a country with a long and big tradition of immigration. Yes - they put all the immigrants in to camps next to the channel tunnel, so that they can illegally get in to the UK.:D:rolleyes::mischief: dionysos2048 Jun 03, 2008, 03:12 AM Harrier, it looks like you're quick to sum up. The Sangatte centre was a no man's land of immigrants who wanted to emigrate to the UK but were refused entry to that country. It was a shameful one, agreed, but remember it WAS (and not is) not even 1% of the immigrants that went in that centre. So choose your words a bit more carefully before you say "all immigrants". Now, I fight everyday against Sarkozy's immigration policy, so I'll be the first to accept the current French position on immigration is a disgrace, but you can't say that over the last 2 centuries France hasn't had a long and rich immigration history. onedreamer Jun 03, 2008, 05:03 AM /nationalistic rant on When France won the world championship, all I could hear even here on the ITALIAN Alps was about France. Now that Italy is the world champion and this thread is dedicated to ITALY, all I can read is about France. A perfect example of the megalomania of our "cousins", I'd say Zidane is a real french in this, perfectly representative of such arrogance and therefor loved and defended by the French even when blatantly in error. nationalistic rant off/ dionysos2048 Jun 03, 2008, 06:22 AM Zidane, arrogant?... Meggafoxy Jun 03, 2008, 06:41 AM Zidane, arrogant?... More like a thug actually. How else do you call a head-butter? I'm glad that he won't play in Euro08 he's a disgrace to French football. dionysos2048 Jun 03, 2008, 07:24 AM Come on... He did something wrong and there's no excuse for it, but say he's a disgrace... Rarely a sportsman has been so talented and so humble. You can't be serious. Unless you don't like sport. A moment of folly cannot erase a career of grace and humility: Here's a small reminder http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYUtKKbBTkw Rossiya Jun 03, 2008, 08:13 AM Zidane makes me sick. Rhye Jun 03, 2008, 11:34 AM EDIT: does anyone know if there is a name given to that chant that the italian fans do? it sounds like the beginning of that white stripes song. It's Seven Nation Army. I wonder if the White Stripes know about this Rhye Jun 03, 2008, 11:47 AM I predict an average performance for Italy (max. quarter-finals) and a poor performance for France (bottom of the group). Check this thread for predictions http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=277226 Rossiya Jun 03, 2008, 04:39 PM It's Seven Nation Army. I wonder if the White Stripes know about this Why have the tifosi chosen that song? Rhye Jun 03, 2008, 05:08 PM Why have the tifosi chosen that song? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Nation_Army#Usage_in_sport Carolingian Jun 03, 2008, 05:09 PM  The God Himself is carried away by the bumping craze! Please Rhye, don't bump old threads or else you will infuriate people like Umarth and Lucifer... By the way, this is my prediction for the final: Portugal-Spain 1-1, Portugal wins on penalties 5-4. Rhye Jun 04, 2008, 01:24 AM loloollol come on, at least this thread is appropriate again, this month... onedreamer Jun 04, 2008, 07:55 AM Zidane, arrogant?... When you do something blatantly wrong but put the blame on the others with the excuse you were provoked, you are indeed arrogant. When Totti spit in Korea and was expelled there was no such petty justification, and he was actually highly criticized by italian press. Only French (not just Zidane, the WHOLE FRANCE) could blame solely Materazzi for what has happened and call Zidane a perfect gentleman. dionysos2048 Jun 04, 2008, 08:25 AM I think you're mistaken onedreamer. While indeed most people thought at first that Materazzi had said or done something a lot worse than what he actually did (which I'm sure you'll agree is understandable), Zidane was criticized by many in France (but of course these may not be the news that made the front page of Italian media). I personally would have liked him to apologize, but nobody's perfect. What most refused to do, however, was stating he was a bad person, an arrogant man, or a disgrace... Again, what he did that day was wrong and stupid, most French, agree on that. But it's just not enough to erase over 10 years of joy, success, and humility. That would be being ungrateful. If you don't believe me I'll provide you the links showing criticism in the French media. onedreamer Jun 04, 2008, 08:27 AM If you think I am mistaken then go about reading french press the day after. Btw: 1) he did not apologize 2) I do not believe that a person behaves perfectly for 10 years, the whole career, and makes such a mistake right in the end. If had could say to have self control, then that was the best moment to show it. Instead, he, the whole team, and the whole France, accused Materazzi to be the Devil to have provoked him and made the God APPEAR to do a little mistake. Heh. dionysos2048 Jun 04, 2008, 08:40 AM ...It looks like you've made up your mind, but you may as well read past the first sentence of my post... I hope others in Torino remember who Zidane is. Virdrago Jun 04, 2008, 09:19 AM I don't know if Spain is as good as the predictions I've read about contend. They always seem to fall apart during these tourneys somewhere along the line... until they prove me wrong, I can't see them in the finals. That being said, I don't see a clear favourite personally. Germany looks good, so does Portugal, and, believe it or not, Romania. I'm not going for anyone this year (Slovakia, as usual, did not get there), so I'll just sit back and enjoy every game. Rhye Jun 04, 2008, 02:12 PM When you do something blatantly wrong but put the blame on the others with the excuse you were provoked, you are indeed arrogant. When Totti spit in Korea and was expelled there was no such petty justification, and he was actually highly criticized by italian press. It happened in Portugal 2004 onedreamer Jun 05, 2008, 02:01 AM So let's wish for a fair play from players and supporters alike for this coming edition. dionysos2048 Jun 05, 2008, 04:04 AM ^ Agreed. I'm tired of the Frenco-Italian rivalry. Time for a peace treaty :)). I Hope Domenech gets the sack. HE is a disgrace to French football. Riker Jun 09, 2008, 10:50 AM Indeed. Let just kick their frog filled butt! Sette7 Jun 09, 2008, 04:01 PM Ouch, Italy. OUCH! Rhye Jun 09, 2008, 05:04 PM Holland-Italy is being discussed here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=278183 Rossiya Jun 10, 2008, 09:11 AM I'm ashamed to be of Italian descent. dionysos2048 Jun 10, 2008, 09:25 AM All I can say Riker is bad timing... onedreamer Jun 10, 2008, 09:45 AM he was joking, heh... Rhye Jun 10, 2008, 11:24 AM I'm ashamed to be of Italian descent. oh come on, we can't always win! We're 4 times champions of the world, the Dutch? 0 times. One game (or even one bad year) can't seriously make anyone ashamed Rossiya Jun 10, 2008, 02:35 PM oh come on, we can't always win! We're 4 times champions of the world, the Dutch? 0 times. One game (or even one bad year) can't seriously make anyone ashamed I was joking. :) "Ashamed to be Italian" is a paradox, oxymoron, whatever. dionysos2048 Jun 10, 2008, 02:49 PM onedreamer, so was I... onedreamer Jun 12, 2008, 08:48 AM bah, much of the team champion of the world has changed. I think it's ridiculous that the press accuses the Champions of the World of a poor exibition. The team that played vs Netherlands is not the same one. |
