I played a lot with Civ 3 zo i'm little bit familiar to the turnbased games (also played masters of orion). And the horrible waiting times at the end of the games always have frustrated me because you always have the feeling your computer is going to crash. I surely would have thought with all these G5 en intel vore duo's waiting times would be minimised to almost 0. But they even became worse. Why am i not able to rotate and inspect the map durig these pauses? It would make turnbased strategy so much more attractive.

Most macs have 2 cores! You would think you would be able to split these calculations or don't I have a clue of what 2 cores means?
