I ran into an odd problem the other day. I'm playing Civ. 3 v. 1.29 (not PtW or any of the expansions) on a computer running Windows 2000. I was playing the Babylonians, and just as we were entering the industrial age, a dialogue box popped up with "Civilization.e.exe has generated errors" and something about closing the program. The whole thing immediately shut down and I was back at my desktop. I tried playing through that turn again and it did the same thing. I tried going a turn back and when I got to that point, it did the same thing. I'd offer to e-mail a savegame, but I wasn't thinking and started a new game, which erased all the old autosaves.

Does anyone know what might have gone wrong? Will this happen again? Can I avoid this happening again?

Thanks muchly.

Dunno. If it happens again, post a save.

Also, in the future, please refrain from posting the same problem more than once. We would prefer to have a clean (as possible) forum. ;)

Yeah - as turner suggest, post a save. Is it a problem on era change? Is it that someone is trying to do an airstrike? A new unit built? etc.
