Okay I'm trying to find a thread that has a configuration close to mine to see how far it's been tested, but I guess I'm not looking in the right place.

Here's my config for you experts.

1 ghz G4 Tower (mirrored doors... those mirrors make it scream! :D )
512 MB Ram
GeForce4 MX
VRam 64 MB

Will it run?
Will I be limited to small maps?
Can I at least run a medium map?
What options would I turn off if I don't want many bells or whistles? I'm more interested in the new rules, strategies, and concepts than the "kill3r" graphics. How much do these options turned off help?

It'll run, but it won't be pretty. Your graphics card is horrid. I wouldn't consider getting the game unless I upgraded it. And even then you'd probably be limited to small/tiny maps I'm on a 1.67 Powerbook and I can't play on medium, even with all the eye candy turned off. It's already almost unplayable late in small map games. But perhaps the patch will change things.

How did you get 64 MB on your Geforce 4MX? Mine only has 32!

Apart from that, my CPU is 1 GHz G4 in a Sawtooth box with 1.12 GBytes of RAM. It isn't pretty. Civ4 installs and runs, even though it complains, but I have no Fog of War and everything is veeeeerrry sloooowwwww.
