so does anyone here know , if I want to play direct IP against a buddy of mine, can I just follow the port forwarding guides in the multi-player forum or might there be some mac "gotchas" that I should be aware of?
I'm gonna try to get this working tonight so If I run into any, I'll let everyone know.
edit:
what about voice chat? anyone know anything about this? even though I have a mic, there are no devices listed for capture so no idea if it will even work.

Interplatform compatibility was very high on Aspyr's priorities list, so I'm sure it'll work without a problem.
Lateralls, what computer do you have?
If you have a more recent 'Book of any kind, under Input in the Sounds preferences an option for "Internal microphone" should be there and highlighted.
If it's a desktop, you might have to install a driver if it's not a common microphone (especially if it's a USB microphone). If it's an audio line-in microphone, select "Line In" in the Input menu.

well rather than mess with the audio voice chat we just used ichat and that seemed to work.
we also avoided the port forwarding issues by putting both the machines in the dmz for the duration of the game. so what did we learn?
nothing.
oh well, I'll give it another go and see if I can't get the port forwarding set up right. for reference, I was using an isight and nothing came up in game for "audio capture device". by buddy was on a macbook and I think it was the same deal for him.
