Reading complaints about disturbing ads here, I thought I would inform about a free utility that can freeze animations/flash and silence sounds: No Flash.

You can read about it here. http://www.bbshare.com/noflash/
It works with IE, I don't know if it works with other browsers too.

I just wrote more detailed information about why I like it, but that post got lost because this site suddenly decided that I was signed out.
I am not typing all that one more time, so I leave it here.

Get Firefox, there are extentions to disable Flash, animations, and more.

Adblock is very good with Mozilla products.

I wasn't aware of that, maybe I should change browser. What about Opera?

Anyway - many users use IE, and for us No Flash is highly recommended. I think I can say if it wasn't for No Flash, I would already have abandoned IE, and maybe most of the internet also.
I can't/won't read sites with any moving images, it is really too disturbing to me.

You could check, but I would not know.
