I am adding the Teutonic Knight as a unit, so I want everything to be same as the Knight except for the offense statistic. Just one question though, why does it say that in the editor, the knight upgrades to the Keshik when it obviously upgrades to the cavalry in the game? And the Keshik upgrades to the Siphala? Should I put the unit upgrade as a Keshik (same as the knight) or cavalry?

The upgrade line is set up like that so that UUs can upgrade and be upgraded to. When you upgrade your units, they become the next unit in the line that you can build. A knight UU should go somewhere between Knight and Cavalry. Make sure you keep a continuous line of upgrades, and remove the civ that builds Teutonic Knights from the Knight's "available to" list.

can you explain why in the editor, the default upgrade for knight is the keshik? but in the game, it's cavalry

the reason is this is the only way to get the horseman to upgrade to these other units. in the editor, the horseman upgrades to mounted warrior > three-man chariot > knight > keskik > ansar warrior > rider > samurai > war elephant > cavalry
if the knight upgrades straight to the cavalry, then the civs that cant build knights (those with UUs that replace the knight) cant upgrade their units to cavalry.
but because no civs but the one the UU belongs to can build the UU, in the civilopedia it says it upgrades straight to the cavalry, because that is the only upgrade it is able to do

if your not those civs with those specific UUs then the game will skip to the next unit once its discovered.
