With Warlords games we play now, will we be able to submit them for HoF or will we have to wait for a Warlords version of the mod to be released? Just curious. :)

Just curious. :) superslug Jul 27, 2006, 03:18 PM You'll have to wait for an HOF mod update, and I wouldn't expect it in the next month. Alraun Jul 27, 2006, 03:21 PM Fair enough. Now I can go frustrate myself trying to decide whether to play Warlords or to play and HoF game. ;) superslug Jul 27, 2006, 03:23 PM The HOF isn't going anywhere. I'm actually anticipating a decline of submissions until we legalize Warlords. WaxonWaxov Aug 20, 2006, 08:59 AM ...until we legalize Warlords. make it so, number one. Lexad Aug 20, 2006, 09:18 AM Will there be 2 separate HOFs or 1 general? superslug Aug 20, 2006, 11:12 AM Will there be 2 separate HOFs or 1 general? There can be only one. [/Scottish accent] <decapitates Lexad> [/Highlander reference]:ninja: Lexad Aug 20, 2006, 10:12 PM Like I had one! <pops another head out of his shoulders> [/Futurama take of 2 Santas reference] And we ain't gonna be able to compare these, right? So whoever finds what version more promising for particular settings will use it. superslug Aug 21, 2006, 04:36 AM Indeed. Some victory conditions may prove more apt for Vanilla, some for Warlords, much like PTW/C3C in III. There will still be room for Vanilla though. Once we unveil the Challenge, nonWarlords users will be able to complete it. Additionally, the Gauntlet rotation will be readjusted where Major is shortened to a month. We'll have one Warlords gauntlet per month, one Vanilla gauntlet per month and the third being open to both. Moonsinger Aug 21, 2006, 07:27 AM Indeed. Some victory conditions may prove more apt for Vanilla, some for Warlords, much like PTW/C3C in III. From what I read so far, I believe that the Inca is way too powerful in Warlords. If you think they already are powerful now, wait until you see them in Warlords. Quechua still gets Combat 1 bonus without barracks. Perharps, it's a bug? Otherwise, it's like having an Aggressive + Industrious + Financial civ under your command. PS: I don't have Warlords (not yet) and I have never seen Warlords. Like I said, I was just reading about it. Lexad Aug 21, 2006, 11:11 AM Quechua still gets Combat 1 bonus without barracks. Perharps, it's a bug? It's not a bug, it's a feature :) - saving beloved quechua-rush. Itis in the dscription. Still, no other units get free Combat I, and barracks ain't cheaper, so it's not Aggressive by far. But quechua-rush together with Industrious and Financial opens a plenty of opportunities, I agree. Moonsinger Aug 25, 2006, 11:36 AM Oh, I forgot to mention that the Ican's granary will also produce culture.;) The-Hawk Aug 25, 2006, 05:42 PM From what I read so far, I believe that the Inca is way too powerful in Warlords. If you think they already are powerful now, wait until you see them in Warlords. I was gonna wait until Christmas and get myself Warlords then. Looks like I might need to make the shift a little sooner! Moonsinger Aug 28, 2006, 05:12 PM Well, it's only $30; however, since superslug doesn't go for it yet. I guess I can wait. That would make me ultraslug, wouldn't it?;) superslug Aug 28, 2006, 06:02 PM We're considering reopening the Beta tables purely for Warlords submissions. I'm really not sure we'd be able to expect much porting of Warlords 1.00 submissions over to the permanent tables though. It sounds like the Incans will be just one of a million inevitable things to get patched. Bozso Sep 07, 2006, 06:39 AM Hello When I used mod 2.00.001 (I put it into the ini file) I got the following error : “The assets are different from a standard install contact HOF staff”, so my (warlords) game was not valid for HOF. I Unload the mod, and after that I load it manually, after that there were no error massage Is there an error in that mod, so it can not be used automatically? I will have to check that, it might not be finding the DLL using the ini. I generally use a shortcut rather than the ini file. (You just copy the regular shortcut and add: mod= mods\HOF-1.61.007) You might want to try that. Note: the extra space is intentional. Bozso Sep 11, 2006, 01:02 AM Hello, With short cut it is working Thank you. |
