With the release of Warlords there has been a debate about the quality of it and whether it's worth it to buy:

I wanted to bring this topic to this forum since modders here have great ideas and good mods...:D

and to find out modders and gamers who use mods, what they think of the new Warlords expansion! :p

I do own the expansion of the game, but from the descriptions and accounts of it.. I am not impressed...:mad:

I have my opinions of the expansion... but maybe for another post..:mischief:


I confess that although I do not care for buying it....

but I will probably buy it since I am plan to release a mod in the next few weeks (for the vanilla version) and I want to keep the viability of my mod with this new expansion.... :(

I'm keeping it, my mod is going to be in Warlords. I believe it didn't take anything out of the game, and it did add things, so that I should buy it.

I'm still unsure. I'm gonna' sit on the fence a bit longer.

Well, think of it this way. Eventually, I'll probably make a decision. If you had put an "undecided" option, I would run into problems later on because I would have selected it now and later on find that I couldn't change my vote... if that makes any sense :D

I've got it and very much like it.

I've got it, and some of the features are pretty cool. The Great General is a good improvement, but should have better defenses since it attaches to a unit.
Look and feel of the game better. So i'd say it was an OKAY improvement. But should have been more compatible. Isnt that what they said about CIV 3, and now everyone likes CIV4, just goes to say. Trying to find out HOW to change those scenario's i have to Warlords? Anybody? (reply to http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=179186 ) thx.

I have it as well. I would have chosen the option, "It's pretty good." if it were available, but instead I settled on "It's okay...". The mods to the vanilla game are not so significant to my mind, vassalage not coming into play with my game style, and having a few details I'm not happy with, but, the scenarios are quite amusing albeit I wished they were a bit more deeply thought out. All in all, I am finding the expansion to be amusing enough, but not really ground breaking. I have not had a chance to delve into the new modding options it allows, so no comment on that aspect.
