GOTM 57 had 8 civilizations crammed-in on a small map - with a variant that every civilization was religious. The idea was that players had the options of a few easy-culture buildings - and to not build them was to do so at their peril. Gifting civs techs to get them into anarchy for an attack was also not possible.

Victories were again early. tR1cKy was not the fastest, but he was the highest scoring, grabbing the gold medal and over 12,000 points. klarius claimed yet another medal with silver - he's rapidly closing-in on SirPleb for most medals in GOTMs. Drazek, another consistent medal winner grabbed bronze, as well as "fastest conquest".

Uh! I was aiming at the conquest award - got my 1st gold medal instead. Not bad :D

I must admit that it's impressive to be, for once, above those 2 top dogs of Civ3. Thanks to all those who picked the challenge, it's been a great game!

EDIT: kudos to Drazek who played a so brilliant game in a fraction of the time i used - well, i left the pc running overnight with the game loaded in a few occasions, so maybe half of those 93 hours are of actual gameplay, but the comparison stands.

Way to go tR1cKy!! :goodjob:

But really, Drazek played the most impressive game this time around. Again. :worship:

And it's really nice to see the top five positions all taken by players of the PCC!

Those quick finishes are just awesome. Well done guys!

Congrats on your first gold, tR1cKy. I still remember reading your Rome story and thinking that you were a highly skilled player. This confirms it.

My return to XOTM has netted two awards in two games but conquest/domination is where the glory (and high points) seem to be so maybe I need to join you lot in this predator challenge lark. I certainly won't win but I should start to learn about aggressive play. I'm too late to play COTM 26 so I'll try it in the current American GOTM. I just need to psyche myself up for the humiliation that will follow. Still, anything's better than the boredom felt during the final stages of a 100K attempt. ;)

Wow !!!!
I didn't expect to win in domination, let alone get into the top ten.

I guess I should thank all the really good player for going for the conquest victory.

New life lesson learned, build more units and less buildings.

Congrats to everyone else.
