Allegiance is a really cool space combat/RTS game. It can be found at http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/ It is an old microsoft game that failed due to bad hosting in the MS Zone (as usual). It is now a FREE fan supported game. It is really, really fun. :) I have spent more time playing it than Civilization 4... even with all the all-nighters "Just one more turn..." It has a steep learning curve but is extremely addicting. Try it!

You don't have to. You can have 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 installed at the same time

I think I might need a joystick, it's slwoer to move with the keyboard but soemwhat fast it the mouse. I'll try again later.

I tried playing the tutorial. It's the only game I know that can use all the analogue controls of the Xbox 360 controller (the wired ones work on PCs).

Heh, I knew about this game sense it was in beta! I play from time to time myself.
