View Full Version : German Translation
PW90 Aug 01, 2006, 04:12 AM Hello, Rhye!
I've tryed out your mod and I think it's a very great one. :goodjob:
But one thing bother me: Some of the text was not in german. And so I translated all the textes in german. ;)
Unfortunately, I can only German, english and a little bit of italian. So I am not able to translate the textes into spain and french. :(
I've only changed one file (CIV4GameText_Rhyes) ;)
Here is it (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads12/German_Translation.rar) :cool:

Rhye Aug 01, 2006, 05:54 AM thanks! can you traslate these too, as fast as you can?
<English> cities have declared their indipendence from the</English>
<English>Indipendence!</English>
<English> cities have declared their indipendence from us and expelled our garrisons. Shall we leave them free?</English>
Elhoim Aug 01, 2006, 06:55 AM <English>Indipendence!</English>
Shouldn´t it be Independence?
I would do the spanish one, but since I´m from Argentina it wouldn´t be so spanish. I´m somewhat good at neutral spanish, but I´m not very good at the "vosotros" thingie ;) :p

Yes, I can. :D
For the first one:
<German> Städte haben ihre Unabhängigkeit vom (Name of the Empire) erklärt</German> or <German> Städte sind ab jetzt unabhängig vom (Name of the Empire)</German>
For the second one:
<German>Unabhängigkeit!</German>
And for the last one:
<German> Städte haben ihre Unabhängkigkeit von uns erklärt und unsere dort stationierten Truppen vertrieben. Sollen wir ihre Unabhängigkeit anerkennen?</German>
I hope, this helps you. :)
PW90 Sep 01, 2006, 12:01 PM So, here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/89666/Text.zip) are the translations for the 1.19-Version :D
Rhye Sep 01, 2006, 02:26 PM thank you, but I have to ask you another effort in polishing it.
Every stressed letter such as à, é, ä or ö should be replaced with a combination you can get from the character map.
So:
ä -> &228;
ü -> &252;
Ü -> &220;
etc.
Can you do that? Otherwise I have to do it manually again and lose much time on it, delaying the release of 1.23

I think, I can do it. But where can I get the character map?
Rhye Sep 02, 2006, 05:31 AM in your start menu, buried somewhere within accessories\system utilities
PW90 Sep 02, 2006, 07:41 AM Thanks for your support. :)
So, I've finished the Translation. Here is the new (http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/89666/Text.zip) version.
PW90 Sep 08, 2006, 04:52 PM So, here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/89666/Text_for_Rhyes_and_Fall_of_Civ_v124.zip) are the german translation for the v124 of your mod. :)

Those fixes were really needed.
PW90 Sep 22, 2006, 10:43 AM So, here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/89666/CIV4GameText_Victory.zip) are the translation for the unique victorys of the current version.
PW90 Oct 08, 2006, 02:39 PM here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/89666/Text.zip) is the german translation of the current version. :D
Rod Oct 30, 2006, 11:12 PM Hello,
I just stumbled over the txt-files and there I noticed the German translations.
They are pretty good, but in CIV4GameText_Victory.xml they seemed to be made by a translator tool.
As a native German I think I should more support this mod.
Here is the corrected CIV4GameText_Victory.xml

Rhye Oct 31, 2006, 08:19 AM thank you, but the link is broken
Rod Nov 01, 2006, 02:58 AM Hello,
link is fixed, sorry
PW90 Feb 03, 2007, 03:04 PM A long time ago, I released the last version of my translation. So, after I have enough freetime to do this, I updatet my translations:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/89666/Text_RFC177.zip
I hope, their is nothing in it, which could be criticized by someone else. ;)
Edit: These are only the translations for vanilla, because I have got no warlords
NoManners Jun 05, 2007, 02:22 AM Hello,
I made the remaining translations for the current version (WL v147). Furthermore I made some minor corrections in the existing texts and changed the "Grosse Depression" (Great Depression) -although historical correct- into "Grosse Wirtschaftskrise", which sounds much better, as "Deppression" is more likely used in a medical context.
Thank you for many hours of fun with RFC :)
Lone Wolf Jun 05, 2007, 09:39 AM I have to ask one question...
I have the misfortune to use the Russian translation of CIV and these stupid translators did place the <Russian> text tags before the English one, so, if I place
Language=0
in the game options, it will give me an unpleasant mix of Russian (from the original translated game files) and English from the mod.
While
Language=1
will give me a mix of English from the original files and "French" from the mod. But, since nearly all the "French" tags are written in English, everything is okay (despite several annoying things, like "Empire malien" and "L'age d'or").
So, does anyone here know the way to set up one language for original files, and different language for files of a mod? That stupidity of Russian translators has ruined several good mods for me. :(
Whitefire Jun 05, 2007, 10:11 AM Would this help? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=186499)
