No fewer than 140 players in 19 teams signed up to play the first SGOTM for Civ4. Congratulations to all who took part, and thank you for making it a very interesting competition.

In view of the high turn-out for this game we decided to award gold, silver and bronze laurels to the fastest three teams, as well as the traditional wooden cutlery set to the lowest scoring finishers. The race for first and second places was very closely fought, with Peanut just reaching the tape ahead of CFR, a team from our Russian sister site. The Geezers delivered the fastest Diplomatic victory to take third place.
