When I click on the icon for Conquests (Complete v1.22), the opening splash shows up, but then everything stops functioning. I can still load the game using the autoplay feature.

WHy can i simply not use the CivConquest.exe? (or whatever it is called)

sorry for the bump/doublepost, but if i do re-install, will i have to back-up any mods that i am working on?

I'm thinking yes. I haven't reinstalled in a while, so I'm not 100% sure.

Well, yeah. That's the copy-protection scheme they use.

no, i mean i have to hit auto-play everytime. the icon in the Main folder does not load the game. it makes the opening splash show up, but nothing else happens...even after 5-10 minutes

I see. In which case, I have no other ideas than what you've already tried.

ah well.

Would it help if i did a complete un-install (deleted all folders)?

Curious,

I am having the same problem right now. I am uninstalling both Conquests and vanilla....for the 2nd time now.

Things were great and then in the editor I imported some units from another mod and then it wouldn't work.

Now, I also installed PTW in another drive (D:) so that I could copy and paste the extras and secnarios into the PTW folder that Conquests creates. Could this be the problem?

Jeez, now when I uninstall vanilla, some files are left behind: the redist folder with the win32 stuff. they won't let me delete them, nor the Civilization.exe. Weird, but to top it all off, I can't install in the original folder because those files are there. I created a subfolder and am installing now, but I got a warning and the begin of installation that access was denied. wtf?

We will see if it works.

My problem was solved by simply cleaning the disk. Go figure.

William: Download System mechanic and use the Incenerator tool that is included. Use that to delete anything that won't go, and then re-install
