View Full Version : Good Money-Making Game?
covok48 Aug 10, 2006, 08:12 PM Hey Ya'll,
I've been playing Railroad Tycoon 2 (1998) like a madman recently and have really enjoyed managing things while making money. Does anyone else know of some good money-making games (old or not) that are fun to play? Recommendations?
p dandy Aug 10, 2006, 09:03 PM Two of my favorites that you might like:
Zeus Master of Olympus
Monopoly Tycoon
Krupo Aug 10, 2006, 10:23 PM Rollercoaster Tycoon (1 or 2) was great too.
Sid Meier's Railroads! is coming out soon - look forward to playing that! :)

CIVPhilzilla Aug 10, 2006, 11:04 PM Corporate Machine. Older game, so the graphics leave a little to be desired, but the gamplay is really fun. You choose an industry to join, either soda, computers, automobiles, or airplanes. You choose a map, my favorite is just using earth and get one region with just a garage for production. You set the price and use your profits to improve your product, buy new buildings, research new markets, or advertise. While periodically you can use chance cards to sabatoge an enemies factory, instigate strikes, steal corporate executives, or a lot of other things. It is really fun and you could probably pick up a used copy for $5.
Maniacal Aug 11, 2006, 01:02 AM I got Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 in a cerial box, I like it, it's not bad.
tomsnowman123 Aug 11, 2006, 10:02 AM Roller Coaster Tycoon (the first one and it's 2 expansions) and Zoo Tycoon 2 are fun games.
Kozmos Aug 11, 2006, 10:05 AM Capitalism 2.....you should get a degree with this game.
Maniacal Aug 11, 2006, 02:07 PM I've heard good things about Victoria...
Also it's supposed to be freakingly complicated.
odintheking Aug 11, 2006, 06:30 PM Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 (and expansions). It's by the same guy, and is fun. Don't get the second one, it's... weird.
puglover Aug 11, 2006, 06:53 PM Don't get the second one, it's... weird.
Why? It has a lot of nice extra features.
trada Aug 11, 2006, 06:58 PM Jones in the Fast lane (http://www.flashback-aw.net/games.php?GameID=28) hasn't been mentioned? It's jolly good and better with hotseating.
RCT1 and 2 rock too.

Godwynn Aug 12, 2006, 11:57 PM Capitalism 2.....you should get a degree with this game.
No joke, if you manage to stay ontop for 20 years you get an MBA through the mail from Harvard.
azzaman333 Aug 13, 2006, 02:22 AM Transport Tycoon is pretty good, about 10 years old now though.
jimbob27 Aug 13, 2006, 02:25 PM I liked simcity 4. Buggy as hell, although there are plenty of user-made patches that fix everything.
warpstorm Aug 14, 2006, 06:55 PM Locomotion is the sequel to Transport Tycoon.
croxis Aug 14, 2006, 09:50 PM SimCity 4 is good (join the region game!). Rush hour, The maxis patch and Network addon mod removes most bugs.
Open Transport Tycoon Delux (http://www.openttd.com/) is another excellent one. We play a few multiplayer sessions every now and then in the chatroom.
Here (http://www.the-underdogs.info/theme.php?id=4) is a list of games on the underdogs in the buisness section.
FireBall Aug 29, 2006, 04:32 PM Indeed, Transport Tycoon (with OpenTTD) is a great game. Making networks is a lot of fun. :)
salty mud Sep 01, 2006, 04:17 AM I like Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 the best! And Zoo Tycoon 2.
carmen510 Sep 03, 2006, 05:41 PM I like Simcity 4 Deluxe, Zoo Tycoon, and Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom.
Rheinmetall Sep 04, 2006, 02:25 AM Detroit

Shylock Sep 05, 2006, 12:58 AM Patrician 3
Europa 1400: The Guild
Port Royale
I especially like Europa. The sequel comes out next month.
