View Full Version : Is CFC experiencing upload-problems?
Willowmound Aug 11, 2006, 07:49 AM I've been trying to upload a zip-file, and keep getting the message 'invalid file'.
Are other people experiencing this as well?
I can't even upload files I've uploaded before, and that are available for download right now!
Is this CFC, or is it me? Any suggestions?
Teg_Navanis Aug 11, 2006, 08:46 AM Perhaps they want you to use the new File Database, dunno really...
Impaler[WrG] Aug 11, 2006, 09:21 AM same thing just happened to me, no idea why, I just changed the file extention to .txt and told people to rename and unzip (the whole file upload type restrictions is rather pointless)
Teg_Navanis Aug 11, 2006, 09:22 AM are you talking about attachments or the file upload system? I just successfully uploaded a zip file with the latter.
Red Door Aug 11, 2006, 09:24 AM You have to use the Easy Upload system for .zip files now.
Wyz_sub10 Aug 11, 2006, 10:13 AM Attachments don't accept zip anymore. Look at the acceptable extension list - just pics, saves and PDFs.

The Great Apple Aug 11, 2006, 12:38 PM For some reason you can no longer attach zip files. I don't know why.

So that people use the database, I would imagine.

I guess so too, but what if the file is not worthy?

Confirmed. Thunderfall has disabled zip-attachments so that people will use the database.

If it's worthy to post on the forum, it's worthy to add to the database. Not everything's a masterpiece - sometimes you just want feedback. The change is just a warehousing interface thing - nothing more, really.
Besides, if you later decide that you don't want it in the "open" like that, you can just delete it.
Jeckel Aug 12, 2006, 06:03 AM At the top of each page in the bar with the File Database, Home, User CP, ect links, there is a Quick Links that you can click. A little menu drops down and you can choose Upload File, this acepts zip files and is what I use for things that don't need to go in the File Database like error log files and the like. :)
The Great Apple Aug 13, 2006, 07:52 AM Zips are now allowed on attachments again. :)
