After spending around £300 pounds to fix my computer and buy a new LCD Monitor, I'm looking to take advantage. For the past year or so I've had a problem with my fan, where I need to actually use a house fan to keep the computer cool. As a result playing games such as Doom 3, Half Life 2 or R:TW has become problematic as the computer would overheat and crash.

Now, with that restrictions gone I'm looking to buy some games to take advantage of my comp. Anyone got any good ideas? I've just pre-ordered Battlefield 2. I'd buy Age of Empires 3 but it's out of stock on Play (where i get the majority of my games)

Battlefield 2 is a must, and I demand to see you on the battlefield. Oblivion you have as well...hmm.

Civ IV :D
Silent Hunter III? You probably need to be interested in U-Boat warfare though.

I dunno, what sort of games do you like? FEAR and Prey might interest you in the FPS field.

Since you're apparently looking for games that will push your renewed PC to the limit, the games stated above will do fine. Call of Duty 2 is also quite a demanding (and fun!) game, my pc isn't able to cope with it at some moments.

Battlefield 2 is indeed recommendable. I played and enjoyed it for a few months, but eventually the technical problems made me uninstall the game out of sheer frustration, and I'm still too demoralized after almost a year to re-install it:lol:.

Actually pretty much any 'big' game released in the past 2 years has been demanding.

Battlefield 2 all the way, nothing like knifing that damn sniper and dancing over his corpse. The latest 1.3 patch is unstable, but 1.4 is coming out in a few days (15 August) and should fix all that.

Silent Hunter 3 as Kan said is fun, if you like realistic submarien simulators.

Fable The Lost Chapters is fun if you love hack and slash semi-RPG.

Really:eek:? The reported instability of 1.3 had refrained me from re-installing. Hmmm.... that Battlefield 2 case on my shelf is looking very attractive now..... It does seem that DICE aren't very good at 1.3 patches (I still remember the 1.3 patch for BF1942 which screwed up the sound completely).

As for Fable, it's a good game, but its replay value is very low. However, it's only €/$ 20 or so at the moment so it's recommendable.

Fable I would recommend, though only for a short, fun game. It's sorta Oblivion-Lite. I forgot about Call of Duty 2  , that's definately a must.

I've never had any problems with BF2 though.

Hearts of Iron 2, Kan got me addicted on that game.

Don't forget Call of Duty 2, the multi-player is awesome.
