When you make a great person a super-citizen, is there an overall limit? I know the window is only so large on the right side of the page, but one can have more then the "size" limit of artists, for example, or merchants, etc. You add another (you don't see the face get added), but you see the stats increase.

Well... is there a limit to the number of super-citizens. Such as addind 4 great artists over time, having the great library, merchantilisim, and the statue of liberty. (Furthermore, for those who have the time, how does merchantilisim and the statue of liberty let you choose the specialist... I'm guessing it's a super-citizen, or is it just a regular specialist?)

Lastly, why is it sometimes you can build a cathedrial (i.e. buddhist stupa), in some cities, and sometimes you can't. 3 temple requirements, 10 cities, etc, all have temples, but the stupa isn't available as a building in each of them. Thoughts? Thanks.

No, I'm pretty sure there isn't a limit. When you get more than can fit on the screen, they get grouped by type. Cursor over to see a breakdown.

You can only build a cathedral in one city for every 3 cities with a temple, e.g. you have 10 cities with temples you will only be able to build 3 cathedrals.

There is no limit on super specialists, but there is a limit on how many fit on the screen. If you add another Great Merchant you'll get the food, the gold and if you run representation the beakers but you won't see him (or you won't see an older specielist).
Mercantilism and the Statue of Liberty give you each one free specialist.
You can have one (ordinary) artist/priest/whatever who doesn't consume food and doesn't add to unhappines and sickness. It adds only imaginery population. If you have no buildings in a city you will have two ordinary citizens (who add one hammer and don't work tiles), except you got caste system.

There's a game somewhere where some of the objectives were to build large populations. The guy managed to build a size 48 city using 20-odd great merchants (which contribute food as well as gold). Very impressive. I'll see if I can find the link.

Edit: Here's the link: Kylearan's Epic #3 (http://www.compoundeye.net/civ/epic03/). 20 Great Merchants plus 28 forced and 1 free Merchant specialist.

Enough to suggest there's no real limit.

Might as well elliminate the obvious.... Does the city you want to build the Stupa in have Buddhism as one of its religions?
