No, not for me, but for someone -- my 90 year old great-great-uncle (save the puns. BTW, he's got all kinds of radio and electronics equipment.) -- who (who's using BCPL Internet if anyone's from Maryland - I know there's a few here that use it.).

Here's the issue. For some reason, the Internet Explorer (and Win ME dialer) isn't working. The same thing happened to me, and I think it has to do with the login prompt that it gives. I tried using Hyperterm, but it wouldn't even let me type anything in the window prompt (I tried ATZ, ATDT .....). Any one know of any dialup telnet programs, or even how to use hyperterm?

Shows how much I've forgotten about dialup in 2-3 years!

I honestly dont know...cuz I haven't touched dial up since....oh 4 years ago...

I would try convincing the old man to go with clear wire or something as easy as just open IE (EWW FF is better)

I am using putty (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/)
for my telnet needs. It offers a helluva lot of options, but i only use it to open connections. (Which, i understand, is what you want to do as well)

Well, it's been fixed, but do you wanna know what the problem was?

You're gonna love it...

You wouldn't even think of it...
He had the wrong password! The old PC had the right one, which worked.
