i recently got aol security center but then noticed that it did not come with anti-virus, it said i had to download it. SO i did, yet nothing happened, it still stated that i needed to download it. I have AVG and norton also, which it says has unknown status...what do i need to do to be able to install aol anti virus?

Don't use the AOL Anti-virus. In fact, uninstall 9.0 and put 8.0 back on. Much better version, IMO.

If you've got AVG, stick with that.

why would 8.0 be better, 9.0 comes with the firewall and saftey and security center...

9.0 takes over your system. It installs a lot of services and programs that need to run in order for you to connect to AOL. This takes up system resources, and a lot of systems can't afford that kind of overhead.

Now, if you don't care that AOL is putting a bunch of stuff on your system, go ahead and keep 9.0. But there are other, less intrusive programs out there that can get the job done better than 9.0 can.

it takes deal of time to remove all that processes (6 or so), andthen AOL 9.0 still can run. It is POS either way, i'm trying for years to make my parents leave AOL.

He'll switch when AOL bankrupts, which is not too far in future.

well AOL is now free for anybody with other connection. Simply their market share is dimishing, as nobody is into dial-up anymore

They still have the AOL Broadband brand. But I don't know how many people are using it.

Also, they will be generating revenue via ads.
