DAZ Productions, the maker of Bryce, is offering free download of Bryce 5 (http://www.daz3d.com/program/bryce/bryce5free.php) for a limited time (offer ends on September 6th). Bryce is an easy to use 3D rendering program.
There is a long thread about this in the Civ3 Creation forum. You can check it out for more info.

Bryce wouldn't happen to be at all useful for civ4 modding, would it? I don't recall what the civ4 models are stored as.

I posted a thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=183990) in the Civ4 Creation forum about it and someone said Blender or 3D Studio Max is much better for making 3D models for Civ 4. Bryce is good for making leaderheads and units for Civ3, and some nice 3D landscape graphics.
Still, I posted the news because it's nice to get something for free, especially the program normally costs $80 - $120 (AFAIK).
