Sorry it has been a while since i last did a search for the possibilities of extending the playable civs past 18.... i did a few forums searches, but to no avail.

Can anyone tell me if anyone has found a way, or found it's impossible?

Are you referring to warlords or vanilla?

Its possible in Warlords, and there have been many threads about it. It involves changing one line in the SDK.

Its not possible for Vanilla.

Keep in mind that as you increase the number of civs the game will slow down. I'm not sure what the most anyone has ever had in, but there will be a limit where it will not be playable.

Do a search for the XXL Mod. You'l have a max of 24 there, but you can change it if you want to. You'd have to download more civs though.
