The TW series should expand into China. China has had tons of legendary wars before so it would probably be an awesome game.

View Full Version : China: Total War Jkern Sep 01, 2006, 11:16 PM The TW series should expand into China. China has had tons of legendary wars before so it would probably be an awesome game. Tboy Sep 03, 2006, 02:30 PM There is a mod for RTW at heavengames that lets you play in China. Tank_Guy#3 Sep 06, 2006, 11:12 AM I think that would be rather uninteresting, perhaps if you expanded it to Asia Total War. Sashie VII Sep 07, 2006, 03:47 AM Don't you think the asian map would be huge? :crazyeye: Tank_Guy#3 Sep 07, 2006, 10:59 AM Hey look at the RTR map. From Ireland in the Northwest, to NW India in the Southeast. Link with a pic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:TotalRealismMap.png BTW, just more to conquer! Sashie VII Sep 09, 2006, 01:27 AM Point well taken. Takhisis Sep 11, 2006, 06:21 AM As it was once said... nice city, I´d love to take it! Jkern Sep 12, 2006, 08:39 PM Don't you think the asian map would be huge? :crazyeye: That's why!:D Sashie VII Sep 13, 2006, 01:48 AM That's why!:D  I remember the fun of it. Though nowadays I prefer to sit back in my heartlands with a core of good defensible cities and play with subterfuge, occasionally sending out an expedition to loot an enemy city or two or to help keep the superpower-wannabe faction in check :p Johan de Witt Sep 13, 2006, 10:26 AM I think that would be rather uninteresting, perhaps if you expanded it to Asia Total War. Did you never play Romance of the three kingdoms or read anything on Chinese history? A China: Total War would be very interesting. More different nations than in RTW and a very good setting for the decentralized type of game you play in RTW with governors. AND an Asia: Total War would be historical nonsense... An isolationist China, India that was more centered on all area's between the Indus and the Ganges, the jungles of south-east asia in which people had almost no contact with China or Indian countries and mongol/Turkish hordes in the North who didn't dwell in cities and so would have a difficult time producing units in a RTW game (since all is produced in cities) I say CHINA: TOTAL WAR FTW!!! Tank_Guy#3 Sep 14, 2006, 02:08 PM Did you never play Romance of the three kingdoms or read anything on Chinese history? A China: Total War would be very interesting. No I have played them, and I prefer the histories of Europe and Scandanavia. AND an Asia: Total War would be historical nonsense... An isolationist China, India that was more centered on all area's between the Indus and the Ganges, the jungles of south-east asia in which people had almost no contact with China or Indian countries and mongol/Turkish hordes in the North who didn't dwell in cities and so would have a difficult time producing units in a RTW game (since all is produced in cities) Well, add a little more aggressive AI in those nations, and with regards to the Hordes from the North why not just have them recruit units via mecenaries, and acquire X amount of cash after every battle or perhaps have a ransom type deal like they had in MTW. Have more cash generated from pillaging as well or something. You could also have the Kievan Rus, and have the Novgorod Republic as separate from Kievan Rus. Maybe have separate factions for each of the major Mongol tribes. |
