Quick question regarding items.

If I recall correctly, Kael once said that Orthus's Axe was a proof of concept for magical items and that more items should follow at one point. Now my question is basically just, will this still happen? Will this mean more options re: item handling? Point in case, I want to pass Orthus's Axe along from the Soldier of Kilmorph who originally killed the barb king to a hero unit, but the only way I can see of doing that is to move the soldier into the territory of an allied AI, gift it to them, declare war upon them, and then have my hero destroy the Soldier of Kilmorph. That's an awful lot of death and war just to have some guy give his axe to another guy.

I looked through the changelog for the upcoming patch (at least I thought I did--I cannot for the life of me find that thread again! Was I hallucinating?) and saw nothing about this--is this an issue that's currently being worked on or is it more of a distant future thing?

Distant furture. Equipment is checked into the "Shadow" phase. At that point we plan on having items you can trade between units, etc. But it isn't in the changelog because its in a future phase.

The best way of shuffling the axe from one unit to another is likely barbarians - find a bunch (preferrably a city) and throw the axe-carrier at weak units until he is wounded and eventually loses. Then, just kill the weak unit who got the axe using your hero. If the world is explored, instead do the same in a regular war.
