So Fox had the doubleheader football game in my area on Sunday. We got to see the Brownies take a pounding and Dallas get smacked.
I dont remember this from last year but something I noticed this weekend was the animated robot graphic that popped up periodically. It was a robot with a helmet and shoulder pads that would flex, run in place, strut, etc...
It reminded me of one of the things I most hated from Fox's hockey coverage back in the 90s. This was the dark era of the glowing puck and the comet trail slapshots. Fox had animated robots representing both teams that would battle after goal with the scoring team's robot basically beating down the other team's robot. I hated everything about Fox's coverage but the battling robots drove me insane. I still rant about it on occasion.
So my question is, what exactly is Fox's obsession with robots in their sports coverage, and can anyone point to any other instances of animated robots in Fox sports graphics.
