I'm trying to get a PBEM game going with friends, but it won't behave! :mad: I've chose the Earth 1000AD scenerio, assigned the computer and AI opponents, changed each players difficulty setting (e.g. Noble, Chieftan, etc) and then hit 'Launch'. It takes me to the game screen saying the first player has paused the game, the game's been saved in your PBEM folder and you should mail it to the first player. Since I'm the first player, I quit out, then go to Multiplayer and Load and try to load the game that was just saved. It displays the loading bar, pauses for a bit and then goes to a blank "Technology" page and that's when I get an error message and CivIV CtD's. I've got the latest patch. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance...

Wow. No help on this? Really? Someone can't even point me to a "how to" guide? The manual is pretty useless on setting up PBEMs. Anybody? :(

Sorry for not responding sooner. We are usually better and answering questions like this. Anyway, I don't know what the problem is. I just tried it and had no problems with the game. Perhaps there is a bug with one of your settings. Maybe try to give yourself a different civ. Change up the difficulties. Try something like that.

Did you choose Multiplayer/PBEM as the game option or SP (in the beginning, for the game setup)? In Vanilla, we weren't able to choose a scenario, but I think that changed with the last patch. Back then, we had to use a 3rd party script to change all AI to human players to be able to play PBEM on earth...

If those graphics errors persist, try a fresh install. What's a CtD?

ctd = crash to desktop

Can you set it up without the mod loaded ?

Hmm, I think you misunderstood what I wrote. I said that back then playing scenarios (=Earth Map) in MP was not possible, but there was a work around. Of course AI in PBEM is possible, and that was the workaround. I set up a game and changed four of the AI to human players, for details you'd have to look into our game thread.
