I've been a bit disappointed that the announced 'Big Huge Games' new game Rise of Nations is like Age of Empires and not like Civ3++ - it looks cool but I've been waiting for another deep strategy game!
I did trip over some info on another new game that sound really cool, though, called Supreme Ruler 2010.
Check out the web site at www.supremeruler2010.com - this looks like the next 'super Civ' type of game!
It doesn't look like they have a publisher yet, but hopefully they get someone who'll give strategy games the attention they deserve - we need more good strategy games!!!!!!

I've seen the screenshots to this game and agree it looks quite impressive. RON looks like a big disappointment because any true strategy gamer doesn't play RTS games. Well maybe EU/EU2 but that's definately a different matter. :goodjob:

I think it is more of the fault of the designers that the RTS aren't as deep as they can be. But I also believe that it would take someone that is a game design genuis.

Don't buy it. Just read a review on gamespot and they trashed Superpower. Good thing I didn't waste any money on this one.

I've just got SuperPower, and it is definitely a bit of a thinking 'niche' type - I think you'll either like it or dislike it, but I'm sure a lot of people would like the concept.
But that is a different game than what I mentioned in my earlier message, Supreme Ruler 2010. Supreme Ruler looks like quite a cool game from its posted info, but it isn't due out until the end of the year.
Here are the websites of the two of them:
Supreme Ruler 2010 (www.supremeruler2010.com)
SuperPower (www.dreamcatchergames.com)

Well, the GameSpot review came out before the GolemLabs had the opportunity to patch up their atrociously buggy game. They have a beta patch available now, with the proper one set to come out tomorrow.
I've only just started playing it, but right now it seems to be okay.
