Fabrysse Sep 18, 2006, 03:03 AM Hello,
I create a new thread about translation.
Version 2.0 (Warlords) :
Translation has not yet begun... We'll perhaps begin when beta is ready...
For future translations, have a look here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=144615). It doesn't give exactly the final translation, but it could help us to go faster...
Version 1.6 (Civ4) :
I translated in French the "Second Revolution 1.6" MOD. Other people translated or actually translate it in other languages (files are here (http://photographisme.free.fr/civ4/second_revolution/)).
Actually available : English, French, Spanish and Italian.
I search other translators in other languages to enable people of many countries to discover this MOD.
I put messages on several forums :
Deutsh : civforum.de (http://www.civforum.de)
Dutsh : dutchciv.nl (http://forum.dutchciv.nl) (added Sep 29, 2006)
English : Here : civfanatics.com !!! (http://forums.civfanatics.com)
Español : civspanish.com (http://www.civspanish.com/foro/viewforum.php?f=8) & apolyton.net => España (http://apolyton.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=160)

Polski : civ.org.pl (http://forums.civ.org.pl) & civland.com (http://forum.civland.com) (added Sep 29, 2006)

Russian : civru.com (http://forum.civru.com/index.php?action=vtopic&forum=9) & civfanatics.ru (http://forum.civfanatics.ru/index.php?showforum=76) (added Sep 18, 2006)
If you need, I can help you to insert your texts in xml files...
Contact me.

GarretSidzaka Sep 20, 2006, 02:44 PM cool! this is so beyond all of my expectations!
today im rewriting the unit and tech xmls so that they direct to a descriptions xml for easy translations.
Fabrysse Sep 21, 2006, 07:06 AM Several users (most Frenchies... no comment) contacted me about problems to install the multi-lingual version of Second Revolution (actually English + French and others soon).
I decided to create a "only one" .ZIP file.
It's now downloadable at http://photographisme.free.fr/civ4/second_revolution/.
And I added more explanations about installation.
swan Sep 22, 2006, 10:36 PM In version 1.5-1.6 I have seen inefficient use of opportunities XML (i.e. much tags which duplicate texts of original game) is inconveniently for search of new changes and takes a superfluous place in archive which could be used with greater efficiency.
I can optimize text XML-files that the fashion will not be reflected in any way in quality and normal work. After optimization anew to translate already translated parts it is not required - I can give the program which is created to combine specially various translations, quickly and not using "copy-paste".
A question - whether to do optimization?
GarretSidzaka Sep 22, 2006, 10:46 PM Thank you very much, swan! :goodjob: I am excited to see the second revolution in russian. i have seen it on one of the russian civ sites for months now, but only in english :(
i am very aware of my previous version's inefficiency. this is due me not nowing anything about XML when i started.
i think the optimization will be okay, but as long as you still leave the full tech tree. in the old (1.6c) version, i tried to make it so you could also play through history and end up in the second revolution (this didnt work too well though).
if you want to translate the newer version, you will notice that alot of the extraneous XML is gone, as i am doing a total conversion based on the 'Barebones Mod' template in warlords.
swan Sep 22, 2006, 11:11 PM Oops - at me version 1.6 (not 1.6c) - I ask to send contents of XML\Text folder from the version 1.6c and if it is possible that will be included into the next version - on e-mail: swan<antispam>civfanatics.ru
GarretSidzaka Sep 23, 2006, 04:08 AM get the patch here brotha
http://ringworldwu.googlepages.com/Second_Revolution_1.6Cpatch.zip
Fabrysse Sep 26, 2006, 03:03 AM Italian translation of the MOD is now available : http://photographisme.free.fr/civ4/second_revolution/
Thank's to Pianedimorro from http://civ4.altervista.org/viewforum.php?f=29
GarretSidzaka Sep 26, 2006, 04:24 AM Oh cool!
I just went and posted there to thank him!
swan Sep 26, 2006, 10:32 AM Sorry.
At me a small problem. My colleague is sick. I now need to work for itself and instead of it. Therefore on translation of time almost does not remain. Wait for 2-3 more days if it is not urgent
GarretSidzaka Sep 26, 2006, 01:44 PM I hope your friend gets better soon :(
Fabrysse Sep 27, 2006, 01:01 AM Hello Swan,
Hope too he'll get better soon.
Don't worry about translation : We are not at factory here ! ;)
We'll be glad to have your translation when you finish... Take the time you need.
Fabrysse Oct 04, 2006, 03:56 AM Spanish translation has just been added to the MOD (version 1.6), by Kelzad (http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=157308). Great great thanks to him.
Updated files (English + French + Italian + Spanish) can be downloaded here : http://photographisme.free.fr/civ4/second_revolution/
Fabrysse Oct 18, 2006, 02:37 AM For the v2.0 translation, we should use this : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=144615. Then, each human translator will have to clean each language translations. I think it'll be easier and faster than translate directly all texts...
GarretSidzaka Oct 18, 2006, 03:43 AM that is a cool utility. this will make things very easy for all the diligent translators!
