I have been playing the 18 Civ. World Map as Roosevelt, trying to get it to work. Having the Aztecs is just a pain to get rid of, and taking care of them in time to expand before Europe tries to start planting cities in North America is horrid.

The biggest problem though isn't the Aztecs, it is how to expand properly and avoid getting too far behind on tech. I will turn "Tech Trading" off, but I could swear the computer doesn't abide by that.

My goal is to have total control of North America, and use it as an imperialistic war machine... kind of like what it is now... if I can acheive that, then I will try and include south america in that as well. That would be a lot of control over the map.... but keeping waste down would be troublesome.... anyways, acomplishing that feat would make a civilization nearly unstoppable. That amount of production, if propertly used, could be really really sweet. Besides, all of that terrirory and only two civs to stand directly in your way.

Anyways, anyone have some tips here?

Focus on sewing up north america completely and developing a tech lead on monty. He'll settle south america for you and get the cities cooking. Then get a bunch of crack troops in your mexican cities, declare war, watch him crash his armies against your walls, and sweep south to take the continent.

im not sure SA would even be worth your effort. By the time you have the infastructure to expand by that degree, youshould have long since discovered astronomy - and any piece of europe you cang et ahold of would be much juicier.
