I wonder if anyone has a good recipe for making great prophets happen. I have founded 4 religions in a fairly healthy 700 BC civ and would like to spread the faith (and make some gold, hehe). Any suggestions greatly apreciated. :worship:

Welcome to the forum.

First I'll point to the beginner tips, but since they are pretty long and comprehensive...

To get a great prophet, work priest specialists (you must have a temple or other building that allows this, of course). Three Great Prophet points each per turn, more with bonuses... Wonders with additional G. Prophet points helps. It gets harder when you have another city creating Great People points faster than the city you want to make a Prophet, since the cost goes up every great person you get...

if you have 4 religions you can spread them into your GP farm (do you have one? no? now is a good time to look for a high food city to settle/conquer), then build all 4 temples (don't waste time with monasteries in the GP farm until you have all 4 temples).
4 temples allow you to hire 4 priests = 12 GPP/t with priest flavor.
If you are willing to take a slight risk, build the national wonder in this GP Farm. You'll have 25 gpp/t, with 4 sources of prophets and 1 of artist = 80%odds for a prophet.

I assume, since you have 4 religions already, that it's not early game anymore. Do you have a state religion? Do you know philosophy (i assume yes!).
If you do, you can switch to pacifism and have 24 GPP/t in you 4 priests GP Farm, with 100% prophet flavour.
If you don't have enough GPP points, or if you have unwanted flavor (scientists, engineers, artists) in your gp farm, you can build some religious related wonders there (best one for this quest is ankor wat, since it would allow 3 more priests and make them worthwhile too!)

After you use the first great prophet on a shrine, you can hire 3 more priests in the holy city. This makes getting more prophets really fast, if you have enough food to feed all those priests!
