View Full Version : Civ 3 on a Windows 2000 Business Pro computer

Now, let me start with the fact that I work swingshifts, in the power industry. So, when the weather is good, and we are slow, people in my job have always read books, watched TV, played games, and now, surfed the web.

So, Civ 3 is a perfect game to keep me awake on midnights;) . But, although it installs fine, when I go to start the game, I get a message to re-log in with administrator privelages. No other game that these computers lets you install does this. Some won't install(Diablo 2 is a big one I'd like, for instance). But, if they install, they work, basically. Unless too old, or something. Anyhow, this is a popup message, and you can do nothing but press OK, and you have no other option.

Anyway around this? Besides being able to log in, as it says? I know there's always ways around things, and hoped there was some easy way to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Bill

Due to the way it was coded, Civ3 requires the player to have admin privileges on the machine.

I don't know of any way around it.
