Hello to all my TAM collaborators and fans of the MOD!

I sadly have to let you know that I will no longer be able to be the head of the TAM development team. I am starting a job as junior game designer in a few days, and the company would not be happy with me putting design ideas into two projects at the same time.

I must say that I had a great time working on TAM, with a great team of designers, coders, and artists. I also have to say to all TAM-fans that many of your comments made me (and the team) really happy -- it's great to know that this project is very popular!

Last but not least, without the community this project wouldn't be possible. All your comments and play-tests made the mod what it is now!

From now on, Laurino is the lead designer of TAM. He's in full control now.

I'll still be here though, reading what you say and replying to comments and questions.

Bad news for tam-fans.

Thanks for all your hard work with TAM for Civ4, as well as Civ3. The best historical mod for sure.

And good luck in your new job. :)

I've been playing TAM for Civ3 more than any other mod, so that this piece of news makes me feel like it's an end of an era. For me, I have already gotten into the idea that there is no Civ3 or Civ4 without TAM, and no TAM without Thamis. No offense to the other designers of the mod, of course. ;)

So I just wanted to thank Thamis for all his work with TAM and wish good luck with the new job.

As for the mod itself, don't worry, thnigs will go on. As Thamis wrote, a great deal of this mod comes from community inputs, so keep this forum (and me) busy!

You will be sorely missed, both for the Civ 4 mod, but also for the Civ 3 mod.

That's it - you now have zero excuse not to play MP with us. We'll even let you live long enough to build Javelineers. Maybe.

Hi Thamis,

I've been lurking around here for a while, but now i feel i have to say this: you did an excellent good job with this mod, it is the best i've played so far in civ4. You have kept the fine ballance between adding a lot of cool innovative features and keeping things simple, not cluttering the game with unnecessary stuff. Excellent work, especially by creating a specific 'feeling' to the game, i guess you have what it takes to be a 'game designer' :goodjob:
Good luck with your new job, and i hope the others that remain to continue the work on TAM will maintain and improve the quality of TAM.

Eugen

Well some of us old-time TAMsters from Civ3 will be hanging around to help out, if not with the coding at least an idea or two. ;)

Thamis, you created something unique and great and hopefully will always profit from this experience.

Hopefully luck will always be on your side and your new job one of the challenging and pleasent steps in your life.

And, please, keep us up-to-date: We're all interested in the games T(H)AMis designs ;)

The games he designs will definitely be A-list games; not anything destined for the bargain bin. ;) Hopefully a new game with the Thamis signature will soon hit the store shelves.

The game I'm working on will probably hit the shelves in about 2 years. But it looks like it's going to be super-great.

This mod is still by far the best mod for me. I play the modded game 80% of the time I play civ, lol!

P.S.
I was away from the game for a long time, but I have come back to tweak the huge map some more :)
