I know there's nothing that can be done to prevent this. but surely it could be staved off a little longer with a few more great people. We'll take on Russia first. I aim for 7-9 GP of every kind, preferably equally distributed through ages. As we're talking Great People here, most of them are in Wikipedia, with portraits and stuff, and a wiki link is quite enough. Prophets: - Vladimir I of Kiev. He isn't exactly a prophet. A prophet must have had an expressed opinion - if not actual prophecies, then at least an authentic view on divine or mystical aspect of life. I also add that even if really like some of your suggestion, there will always have some people to ask for an add-on or a remove of a GP because he like/dislike him/her, or simply want him/her to be added/removed. To finish, our goal was also to add GP from all the time areas of the game if possible. So, can you give me a GP of Russia from around 500 BC ? Or a Zulu great scientist ? I hope that your understand our problem and our goal. Even for my own country (France), i took only a very small part of the GG i know (and they are plentifull). ;) and i don't create the awesome list i had (for example i can add 37 GA for my country and the list is not ended). Last but not least: If you want to help us to add 5 or 6 GPs by civ (those who are really important in your mind), you will be welcome ! :D Just contact me ! Hian the Frog Well, I understand, and for most civs the list can be stretched even farther (I actually had quite a bit of selective decision making when selecting GA for Russia as well). What I try to do is to create a comprehensive list where every civ (at least in Europe, I don't think I'll manage to do China or Korea) would get 7-8 GP of every kind and 10-15 GGs. I'm trying to be as unbiased as I can, and use only two main criteria - the selected GP must have lived and worked in country representing civ in question (as in here Rus-Russia-Russian Empire-USSR-Russian Federation) and he/she must be considered great (this is quite subjective, so I solve it by being great=being in wikipedia :)). I do understand why some GP have been included in the civs they don't belong to, and I highly praise the heroism of a man compiling the list of Zulu GPs :D. Still, my opinion is that where there's an opportunity to create a list of GPs of correct nationality, it should be done. That's why I'm asking if I should continue with that stuff, or take it easy and don't spam you with GP suggestions. P.S. Inspired by you, tried to think a list of various GA for Russia off the top of my head, only those I can remember without consulting anything - mostly from school. Stopped at 43. So I did quite some selective work too, you see... :D Hian the Frog Dec 15, 2006, 03:32 PM Well, I understand, and for most civs the list can be stretched even farther (I actually had quite a bit of selective decision making when selecting GA for Russia as well). Then there will have some improvements. Maybe a corrected or improved list ? Who knows ? :p Be sure, that' i will read your next posts (if you do some) as it's me that add most of the GPs in the Team. Thanks for this Russian list. As i already said some GPs are interesting. Hian the Frog Anaztazioch Dec 15, 2006, 03:39 PM Can we made Warlords/Great Generals more usefulls ? 20xp points and new promotions where only those with withdraw and +100% xp from combat are interesting is a bit too small isay. Especially when AI uses them to attack fully healed units. +2xp is also a bit too smal conserning how hard it is to get one for non imperialistic civ. This cannot even get lvl 4 unit. militaristic + barrack + 2 is only 8xp (there is no civ with militaristic and charismatic). Gaius Octavius Feb 07, 2007, 02:05 PM Anyway. I know there's nothing that can be done to prevent this. but surely it could be staved off a little longer with a few more great people. I have compiled a much more extensive list than is currently in Total Realism [see my sig], which has 10-15 names per person type on average. Also, I am currently in the process of expanding this to ~30 names per person. |
