Cosmichail Oct 15, 2006, 11:17 PM Just lurking here.
But the race to the moon is Apollo and the Spaceship victory is actually the race to Alpha Centauri ergo the SMAC series to follow up from the older Civ series.
Large map too big for my puter.
FuRRie Oct 16, 2006, 05:53 AM I'd sign up, what difficulty will we be playing ?
Eshnunna Oct 16, 2006, 04:09 PM Yay sounds fun
I'm comfortable at monarch, so emperor+ will be tough.
Never played a SG, although lurked quite a bit. (will need some tips about screenshots Bfore reporting...)
So count me in if possible!!
(BTW, 1.61/warlords? game speed? - plz no marathon!)
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 16, 2006, 04:48 PM I'd sign up, what difficulty will we be playing ?
i was thinking noble welcome abord

FuRRie Oct 16, 2006, 06:01 PM Prince sounds fine to me, i'm emperor/Immortal nowadays, but didn't play tooo much lately so Prince sounds just fine :).
Admiral Kutzov Oct 16, 2006, 09:17 PM normal speed or slower?
If you are playing epic or normal, I'll play.
Go for high seas.
hope for a coastal start, GW, GL and ToA would be the high priorities? Or the CS slinger?
BTW, I'm an idiot, but competant up to monarch. We should breeze through this on prince unless it is a very bad start.

FuRRie Oct 17, 2006, 05:05 AM Prince + Epic would be way too easy anyway :).
we should get some early wars + grabs before we become WC and then just shoot for space ;)
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 17, 2006, 06:28 PM sounds like a plan
Admiral Kutzov Oct 17, 2006, 07:22 PM so we need a start...
:bump:
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 17, 2006, 08:54 PM okay ill get started on it
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 17, 2006, 09:28 PM okay here are some starts to choose from
Start A
140588
its got sheep and wine and is next to a river
Start B
140589
Gots some elephants cows and it near flood plains makeing it a great GP farm
Start C
140590
Gots rice and its upon the coast
Start D
140591
Gots cows and is on a river
i dont know which start 2 choose from
i also want to know what tech path to go by
cause usually in my normal games i always screw up :rolleyes:
also do we want to go for stonehenge, GW, Pyrimids, and/or Orcle
Cosmichail Oct 17, 2006, 10:38 PM Lurking
Xtream,
Hope you don't mind I offer some input. I would go for start B as you have the most production in that although there is one start you can't really tell if there are more hills available. I find production paramount in this game and start B has the following:
1. Ivory which will once worked provide 1food3hammers and 1 happy.
2. Two grass hills
3. Flood plains
3. Cows (also will provide producton and food)
As to starting techs it depends what you need. If you are playing monarch and have to deal with happiness religion is important but a risk. I generally go for Mysticism (for the monument/obelisk) and then polytheism since most go for the buddhism. If you are on Noble/prince I wouldn't worry about that as much and go for a few worker techs like animal husbandry, agriculture. Of course if barbs are on, consider bronze working or archery. I tend to go for bronze working to find the copper fast and don't bother with archery for a while. That can backfire so be prepared to have enough warriors.
As to wonder, Stonehenge offers the most bang for the buck imo.
Why 16 culture/gets you a GP fairly quick for either:
1. CS slingshot
2. Or a religion
For no 1 you can't research masonry. You must also have Code of Laws researched for this option.
For no 2 you must research meditation/polytheism in order for the GP to give you theology. I like the Oracle but on higher levels get beat to it. A lot of what you do in game is "as you go along" and encounter different situations and that too will have an effect on your gameplay.
Good luck Xtream and team.
Eshnunna Oct 18, 2006, 02:47 AM OK, start B is obviously the most powerful on first sight, but we just could spawn in the middle of a big useless desert wasteland... Start C isn't bad either, very very flexible w. flood plains 4 early cottages grass forests and river, and probably more temperate surroundings. Commerce heaven and wonder chop.
Whaddya think? I'd vote for C, but I'm a bit partial to coastal starts. And beginning with agri allows us to get the rice online very early. food powered settlers, here we come.
Btw, you didn't answer an important question : will we be playing it on warlords or 1.61? I can handle both, but it changes a lot of early game decisions...
And being industrious, I'd go 4 stonehenge after 1st settler, not much of a risk on prince.
About early techs, it will depend on the start we choose. With start C on prince, I'd try the "cottager's gambit" : Starting w. agriculture, we could afford wheel + pottery first (4 ultra early cottages on flood plains), then mining for prod, mysticism =>stonehenge and then BW and AH for resources.
As you can see I'm not a big fan of religions, but we can aim for oracle and CS slingshot. We'd have to find something to kill barbs though... it would be unwise to focus on the CS sling if we have no copper/horses and must research archery.
If we have stone/marble nearby, I'd vote to use these resources 4 wonders, therefore getting masonry soon (& forgetting about the CS slingshot).
As we are industrious, grabbing metal casting with the oracle could be nice (in case of no CS sling), if we crave for production. (Scouting required!!)
Looking forward to your ideas about those thoughts :D
Hope this game wil rock, and that we'll mow down all those bloody infidels... err... I mean... rogue states.
Eshnunna Oct 18, 2006, 03:03 AM Okay
I just read you mentionned going for the great wall in your post about the 4 starts.
I deduce we'll be playing int on warlords, which increases greatly the value of chariots... and horses.
We'll see.
FuRRie Oct 18, 2006, 07:17 AM Just some general ideas.
A CS slingshot isn't too important on Prince, i'd rather focus on some nice expansion early game and grabbing some good wonders then purely aiming for the CS-sling.
Better go with a nice Axe + Cats rush and take out someone (or 2 :p) and then just get to CS - Gunpowder - Chemistry.
Just my 2 cents :)
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 18, 2006, 09:19 AM Im leaning towards B but mabey C due to the Sea hmmmm............................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .......
im going to flip a coin Heads is B C is tails
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 18, 2006, 09:23 AM and also some great thoughts
Im prity good about going for Stonehenge
and if i do get out voted for C we could make our Great capital of washington a wonder powerhouse With TOA GLighthouse Orcle and mabey SL
Eshnunna Oct 18, 2006, 10:37 AM Erm.. about grand strategy:
which victory condition shall we pursue : space, diplo or backdoor diplo/domination ?
What do you guys/gals(?) think about roleplaying this game and trigger a UN backdoor domination ? (the only problem being not having access to state property... but organized will help a lot with that)
FuRRie Oct 18, 2006, 11:16 AM i'd go for Domination (aka backdoor UN)
Eshnunna Oct 18, 2006, 02:20 PM I agree w. domination. In a SS race, we won't want to have wars going on.
By the way, if we go for domination, being Da World Police surely will prevent us from doing wars the way we want it. But never researching democracy really doesn't fit in the roleplaying aspect of the game.
I don't say we sould beeline for world police-related techs either, but I think whe sould agree on this specific aspect of the tech path before even beginning the game.
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 18, 2006, 04:50 PM how about mining->mythicsm->BW->IW->polythesim
or Mining->Bw->AH->IW->HR
i also fliped that coin and it was heads
Admiral Kutzov Oct 18, 2006, 05:32 PM I'm fine with whichever start y'all agree on.
tech path: Mining, pause and let's discuss.
spam warriors, until we hit size 2 then a worker?
stonehenge then the oracle gets my vote. If not that then GW, pyramids.
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 18, 2006, 05:33 PM so which start did we agree on
im for b
Admiral Kutzov Oct 18, 2006, 05:43 PM I'll go with b -> 2!! oasis. And i've change my mind on the tech path a bit: hunting, mining, then pause to discuss. The 'phant will do 3 hammers and adds commerce. IIRC.
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 18, 2006, 06:24 PM okay so B is so far the major hot spot
just need Furrie to vote
FuRRie Oct 18, 2006, 07:07 PM Just pick B, it's fine by me.
I mean, we'll win anyway, it's prince !
open with Mining and BW, then we'll discuss the following tech path.
Bronze is just an important tech, firstly for the needed Axes and secondly for some chop-rushes :)
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 18, 2006, 07:19 PM okay we have our start now here is the turns
me->20
furrie-> 20
Eshnunna-> 20
Admiral Kutzov->20
after that 10 turns each
oh yah im wondering do we have any NY Yankeys,nets,giants,and/or jets fans
cause usually i like to name the seconed city Boston ;) :D
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 18, 2006, 08:01 PM okay i decied to go a full 20 turns you wanna know why i poped 3 techs and finished 2 which means i got 5 techs in 20 turns thats like 1 tech every 4 turns:eek:

Currently i have it on The Wheel but you can change it to want we decide on
but aint that luckey to have over FREAKING 5 techs in 20 turns on Prince god it makes me want to cry with happyness
and the SAVE 140651
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 18, 2006, 08:02 PM me->20---> Just went
furrie-> 20---> Up
Eshnunna-> 20---> on deck
Admiral Kutzov->20--> just chillen
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 18, 2006, 11:50 PM now since we have over 7 techs in the begining
"its better to be lucky than good"
what are we going for next
Eshnunna Oct 19, 2006, 02:44 AM Very nice exploration turnset indeed!!
Have you been sacrificing Indian scouts to the RNG god lately? because we have an awesome start : besides the 3 free techs, I noticed in the save that we have copper, marble and stone in our capital's fourth or fifth ring... that ROCKS
Soon we will be unstoppable :borg: :sniper:
Tech wise, pottery => mysticism seem logical, with copper on hand and not too many jungles nearby.
About the next turnsets my two+ cents :
- explore a bit the surroundings of the copper and stone sites with our sleeping warrior in Wash.
- found NY (or Boston or Paris or whatever ;)) next to the copper : is there more fertile terrain south of the copper?, unless an outstanding city spot lies next to the stone (sonehenge is a fast wonder, hooking up the stone is not a priority)
- build a worker or 2 once we hit size 3 (to use all these nice worker techs... and cottage those flood plains)
- grow Wash. a bit while building stonehenge, before the barbs become too annoying
And build axes in second city + expand after stonehenge is completed
What shall we do with Washington? the fat cross is extremely flexible, an early wonder powerhouse/GP farm that is a no brainer. Afterwards, go for cottage mode? Or full production mode? we are south to the equator, lots of cottage paradises in the north, and in the south there seem to be a good quantity of hills, requires more scouting.
FuRRie Oct 19, 2006, 04:56 AM Got the game...
I'll play in 3-4 hours.
Turnset plan: Explore Copper area, settle near copper, connect cities and resources, find some enemies to kill, build some wonders :D
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 19, 2006, 04:30 PM aweome turnset plan
Admiral Kutzov Oct 19, 2006, 04:39 PM oh yah im wondering do we have any NY Yankeys,nets,giants,and/or jets fans
cause usually i like to name the seconed city Boston
Steelers, Penn State, Pirates fan. guy. I'm old and have a warped sense of humor.
:thumbsup: on the turns so far.
- build a worker or 2 once we hit size 3 (to use all these nice worker techs... and cottage those flood plains)
2 workers please. camp the ivory while cottaging the flood plains. IIRC, camped ivory gives 1F, 3H, 3G and is quicker than mining.
re techs, pottery then myst is good. by going for pottery we have to learn the wheel first which let's us hook up the ivory for +1 happy gas.
What does everyone think of Washington as a GP factory? stonehenge, oracle, CI? No contaminating it with other wonders. By the time we have maces, switch it to a commerce/production city?
tis a shame there's no hitting F11 like civ3 to see whom we're up against...:cry:
just a request - we'll need a dotmap for city 2 and 3 soon...
FuRRie Oct 19, 2006, 04:43 PM guys, i wasn't able to play today because i was baptised in the students club, i'll play tomorrow
Eshnunna Oct 19, 2006, 04:57 PM well, I hope they didn't go too rough on you :spank: :groucho:
no prob about not playing today, we're still way ahead of schedule anyways.
by the way furrie, in which part of Belgium R U?
On topic : I always like great prophet spam (found confucianism w. oracle tech?). Shall we go for civil service with 1st prophet and forget the stone & marble for a while?
In this case I'd like Washington to have a fair amount of cottages ASAP to maximize the civic.
We should definitely go for GL and maybe HG (not in Wash, if you don't wanna "pollute"...), after we get the resources online. Or slaughter a neighbour if not too far away.
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 19, 2006, 04:57 PM guys, i wasn't able to play today because i was baptised in the students club, i'll play tomorrow
Baptised is that students club a reigos cult or something lol :lol: :lol: :crazyeye:
Admiral Kutzov Oct 19, 2006, 05:01 PM some type of secret society? :lol: what do they baptize you in? :beer:, wine, water, algebra, calculus? ;)
@ all, my preferred form of address is "AK" it is not necessary to bow :joke:
Eshnunna Oct 19, 2006, 05:10 PM Lol looks like the whole team is tuned. Funny
btw Admiral, what does the "CI" in your post stand for? (it's late, must have a memory leak of sorts...)
edit : chichen Itza, now I get it... sorry
FuRRie Oct 20, 2006, 06:01 AM well, it's just difficult to translate to english.
Basicly, basicly every possible study course (rights, maths, ...) at university has a group which represents that study course.
If you join that group you get free beer at nights and all.
the "baptism" is just when the people who like to join have to do some assignments and get pretty dirty and such.
ANYWAYS:
Got the game, i'm playing right now :)
FuRRie Oct 20, 2006, 06:20 AM Okay, turns played, report will be short but clear, nothing much happened on my tunset anyway.
Also, I didn't include any picture, I would do normally but i'm lacking the time to do it atm.
T2: Warrior is attacked by Lion -> Woodsman I
T8: Wheel invented -> Mysticism
T9: Meet Montezuma and Wang Kon, great, its nutty monty :p
T10: First barb Warrior spotted
T11: Mysticism invented -> Pottery
T14: Washington: Settler -> Warrior
T17: Pottery incented -> Masonry
Settle New York in a spot that wasn't planned according to game plan, the city sit has Copper + Ivory + Rice + Incense in BFC, I just had to settle :p
T18: Washington: Warrior -> Stonehenge
That's all that happened on my Turnset.
Oh, I noticed difficulty was only set on Noble?
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 20, 2006, 09:11 AM huh it was noble
i thought it was prince
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 20, 2006, 09:13 AM Xtream_rockstar--> confused
FuRRie--> Just went
Eshnunna--> is up
Admiral Kutzov--> on deck
FuRRie Oct 20, 2006, 10:55 AM well, when i looked at the settings it really did say Noble :p
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 20, 2006, 06:08 PM omg!!!!!!
do u guys want to restart on prince or contiune on noble
FuRRie Oct 20, 2006, 06:20 PM Noble is also fine by me :)
Admiral Kutzov Oct 20, 2006, 06:37 PM the pressure is now on to finish sooner. That 7 techs in 20 turns was strange. Now we know why. we have a sweet start, let's play it as a tune up game.
FuRRie Oct 20, 2006, 06:44 PM try to maximize our score ;)
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 20, 2006, 06:56 PM okay so we contiue
Eshnunna Oct 21, 2006, 01:29 AM lol... we will soon anihilate them
got the save, will play asap.
Eshnunna Oct 21, 2006, 02:37 AM Okay, let's go for my report, then.
Pre turn
We have no workers but started on stonehenge?? Guess NY needs its border pop soon in order to grow anyway. + early GPP never hurt.
Turn 1
Warrior in forrest NE of Wash kills bear, goes back to cultural borders to heal faster.
We meet KHAN, scout near NY
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0005.jpg
Turn 2
The idle warrior in washington goes exploring the south.
Turn 3
Washington hits size 3, and goes with max prod with slight (1F) growth
Turn 4
zzz
Turn 5
:sleep:
Turn 6
Masonry is discovered. I guess now we'll not be chasing Civil Service, un less delaying the Oracle until we have CoL on hand... I go for meditation/priesthood
NY builds warrior and puts some shields in a granary until size 2
Warrior kills lion near stone site
New warrior goes exploring SW of NY
Turn 7
Crap.. definitely a bear-rich area :sad:
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0006.jpg
Turn 8
NY starts on worker.
Oh look what we found... another stone on the coast!!! :crazyeye: :lol:
+ a clam in the water. (screenshot didn't work)
Turn 9
And yummy horses...
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0007.jpg
Turn 10
zzz
Turn 11
:sleep:
Turn 12
Another bear spotted near NY : warrior flees!!
Turn 13
Well, some veeeery bright guy thinks we're gloriously advanced. Not really a surprise though.
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0008.jpg
Meditation found, onward for priesthood
Turn 14
Well, looks like Ghandi got a crappy ice start.
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0009.jpg
I dunno if that makes him that attractive for an early war, not lots of land down south, but he'll soon grab our city sites and become annoying.
Turn 15
: sleep :
Turn 16
Stonehenge!! Yay!! (screenshot didn't work :sad:)
Washington grows to 4 pop while putting some shields into a barracks.
Turn 17
zzz
Turn 18
priesthood -> writing
Turn 19
Worker built in NY, granary pre-build resumed.
Obviously, worker goes mining the copper
Turn 20
First barb warrior spotted : all explorers are sent back to the cities!!!
(next player might want to check, maybe wome warriors are on automated movement... sorry bout that)
END OF THE TURNSET
Some picts of our glorious empire
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0011.jpg
And of its surroundings
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0012.jpg
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0013.jpg
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0014.jpg
Lots of nice jungle resources in the north... yummy. Cottage heaven as well.
Beware of barbs, we need to connect copper ASAP, and crank out a few axes in Wash before doing sth else.
We also desperately need to improve our capital's fat cross.
Afterwards, my game plan would be oracle in Wash, and new settler in NY, Iron working and colonize the jungle (we'll need commerce oriented cities soon!!.
The save :
140839
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 21, 2006, 11:57 AM Great turns
Xtream_rockstar>>>>on deck for 10
FuRRie>>> (insert comment here) 10
Eshnunna>>> just went 10
Admiral Kutzov>>>> UP for 20 (last round for 20 after this its 10 each)
Awsome i dont usually go for orcle more often the GW but it seems that barbs aint going to be a problem (or are they:rolleyes: ) Iron working also is good so we can sword rush Ghandis pacifist ass
Admiral Kutzov Oct 21, 2006, 05:27 PM I got it. Probably won't get to it until monday afternoon since my son is playing football on sundays (not the nfl). Haven't review yet. I'll be back with some thoughts before I play. Maybe a dotmap, if i get ambitious...
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 21, 2006, 06:18 PM I got it. Probably won't get to it until monday afternoon since my son is playing football on sundays (not the nfl). Haven't review yet. I'll be back with some thoughts before I play. Maybe a dotmap, if i get ambitious...
holy crap am i the only person on this site that isnt over 30 :) :lol: :D
Admiral Kutzov Oct 21, 2006, 07:40 PM Hmm, I got ambitious. I don't know why I don't feel good about this set (maybe cause I only got 2 techs?). Feel free to comment on what I did wrong; i won't take any offense.
I look around for about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to not mess up. Decide I don't want to contaminate Washington with non-GP wonders. The rest flows from that.
Decide Pittsburgh is a good place even though it has no rivers. It will pull 3 resoures even though it steals a plains from Washington. Part of the decision, was to block Baldie.
My 'thought' pattern:
-3 turns until copper is hooked up at NY
-NY is building granary; we need improvements; 12 turns to pop another worker; make the change
I want +4 GP in Washington. Change it to Oracle.
BTW, didn't find any auto explore warriors.
an half-hour goes by...I hit enter.
I'm having issues with taking screenies. That's why this report is devoid of them. I will try to add some tomorrow.
Nothing much except exploring until 1400 when when we learn how to write. I spend another 20 minutes staring at the tech tree. Finally decide to start on Alpha. Oracle will be used on COL. Nagging feeling I should back fill the religious techs. Damn computer won't let me open that file. Drop science to 80% to get some money in the back; I think we'll need it later.
Nothing until 1280 when NY finishes the worker. Rename him NYDOS (NY Department of Sanitation). Start a settler to claim Pittsburgh.
1240: Baldie asks for open borders. What's he drinking? He doesn't have Monarchy. No. Leave that decison for the next better player.
Nothing until 1160 when Wang deploys an archer/settler pair.
While blundering around the world in 1160, Khan asks for open borders. I see no harm in that since I haven't found Khan's borders, so I say, "K".
In 975 NY finished the settler and start on an axe cause I'm paranoid.
The Oracle finished in 950 and we got COL as planned. We also founded the religion of Confusedanism. We convert.
In 900, the home of the five time Super Bowl Winning Pittsburgh Steelers was founded. It started a CH. Feel free to change that build. Washington starts building CI for additional GP points. We should talk about what we're going to do with the GP when he pops.
My suggestions for the future:
1. Connect the empire
2. After roading to Pittsburgh, connect the stone to speed up CI.
Sorry about the lack of pictures. Will try to post some tomorrow.

Nice turns
i think we should axe-rush soon if we havnt started yet time for some good old whiping :whip:
and yes this is the pick up
Eshnunna Oct 22, 2006, 12:53 AM well going the wonder heavy path makes it a bit difficult to rush anything without our capitals production available. Ans since we're nowhere near max pop in our cities (remember this is noble!!) I'd rather grow/expand a bit more before pop rushing
I'd rather wait for swords and catas now to take Dehli, but we can build a few axes to kill the other cities of Baldy and send him back to the stone age. Anyways we'll need some barb police at some point, don't we?
And I don't think building the oracle looks like a big screwup at all... :goodjob:
Btw, did you found confucianism ???
And I'm 24, so Xteam U're not alone :p lots of fans of the series since CIV I, it seems ^^
Admiral Kutzov Oct 22, 2006, 05:40 AM Btw, did you found confucianism ??? yes
we can't use the first GP to pop CS, so what do we do with him? The shrine? If we lightbulb, we need to backfill some of the religious techs?
The CI build just started in 900. We can delay or skip it if we want to get aggressive.
I'd feel better if we had some chariots and/or axes
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 22, 2006, 12:22 PM And I'm 24, so Xteam U're not alone :p lots of fans of the series since CIV I, it seems ^^

FuRRie Oct 24, 2006, 06:15 PM Good, i'll play this afternoon (3 PM GMT+1)
FuRRie Oct 25, 2006, 06:10 AM Played my 10 turns.
Little happened, but still, did some changes.
Pre: Swap some builds
Pittsburgh: Courthouse -> Barracks
Washington: Chiczen -> Barracks
T1: Spread Confuciasism in Washington
T3: Washington: Barracks -> Library
NY: Axe -> Granary
T6: Kill barb warrior who entered our lands with the Axe
http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/1525/civ4screenshot0012ln3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
T9: NY: Granary -> Barracks
T10: Alphabet -> Archery
Make a trade with Ghandi: Archery + Polytheism and we give Meditation + Writing
Archery -> Literature
Ideas/Suggestions/remarks
1. Why weren't our cites connected yet? Connecting cities is a priority, I connected NY and Washington and road to Pittsburgh in being built.
2. Don't know why Chichzen Itza was a selected built, I've never built that wonder before I believe.
3. We might wanna get another Settler out in a short while to get that Marble hooked up.
4. Ghandi looks like a nice first target, get some axes and take him out.
5. Noticed we didn't Slavery, are we allowed to use Slavery our not? If we ware, please revolt and start using the whip.
Eshnunna Oct 25, 2006, 08:08 AM Sorry guys my internet will be down for a few days, plz skip me until further notice. I'll try to lurk around if possible.
Gluck w. the game, and kick Gandhi's ass for me !
FuRRie Oct 25, 2006, 10:06 AM Xtream -> Relaxing Around

answering these based on memory.
1. needed improvements to boost the health and production and we only had one worker when I started
2. CI was selected as an experiment. If we build it we'll have +6 GP points in that city. we had no hammers into when I started my turn. I firgured this was pretty low level so what the hell? I'll look and see if it still looks feasible.
3. agreed, my focus was to block gandhi at the time
4. agreed, priority
5. I wasn't sure either, can we get a ruling from our leader? :confused:
Play tomorrow
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 27, 2006, 09:57 PM sure we can use slavery
Admiral Kutzov Oct 28, 2006, 03:25 PM I have offspring issues today and early tomorrow. I'll have it up late Eastern US time tomorrow
Bear with me. The offspring are causing serious issues. If someone else wants to pick it up, go for it. Really, I'll get it done on Monday.
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 29, 2006, 10:40 PM well i cant play it im being grounded for being american
FuRRie Oct 30, 2006, 06:19 AM It's monday, so will just let Admiral Kutzov play.:)
Admiral Kutzov Oct 30, 2006, 07:19 PM Sorry for the delay. Not much to report. Axemen moving on Gandhi.

FuRRie Oct 31, 2006, 08:48 AM Right, played my 10 turns, I kinda made an dumb error and lost 2 Axes (also RNG wasn't to friendly...)
T1:
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/9455/civ4screenshot0023mm2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Literature -> Iron Working
Pittsburgh: Barracks -> Axeman
T2: Raze Bangelore
T3: NY: Axeman -> Axeman
T4: Washington: Axeman -> Great Library
T5: NY: Axeman -> Axeman
T6: RNG is an ass, and makes me lose 2 Axeman to Bombay, second Axeman dies without even scratching the defender. I retreat temporarely.
T10: Iron Working -> Mathematics
NY: Axeman -> Axeman
Pittsburgh: Axeman -> Axeman
We now have a large enough stack near bombay to take the city, me might want to wait before taking Delhi when we have Catapults.
Xtream_Rockstar Oct 31, 2006, 06:34 PM Xtream_rockstar>> ungrounded but still gotts to wait his turn

Eshnunna Nov 06, 2006, 08:11 AM Hey Guys!!
Sorry for not answering lately
Crappy french internet company still hasn't put Internet in my new appartment, but I now have an access at work.
So I can play, If admiral hasn't played the turnset yet
Or I can come afterwards
Or whatever.
And I will kick Gandhi's ass.
FuRRie Nov 06, 2006, 09:10 AM since Kutzov hasn't posted a got-it you can pick it up :)
Cosmichail Nov 06, 2006, 12:54 PM lurker comment
And I will kick Gandhi's ass.
Where I have heard that before? (doesn't everybody do that to Gandhi)
Eshnunna Nov 07, 2006, 09:52 AM Okay, take that as a got it, then.
Will probably report in 30 hours or so...
And yes I'll be a conformist and kick Ghandi's ass big time (if capital not too well defended)
Xtream_Rockstar Nov 08, 2006, 05:10 PM i gots my computer back and can play yah
Eshnunna Nov 09, 2006, 03:06 PM OK heres my report
Turn 1
Moving axemen -> Bombay. Yikes :eek: 5 archers?? no can do. Not with 6 axes.
Turn 2
Washington hits happiness cap, reconfig for production.
Last axe in position
Turn 3
Meet Brennus, he has no religion, is 4th in score
NY courthouse -> chariot
Around Bombay : 7 axes Vs 6 archers, half of them combat 1. It is NOT possible to take that city without cats, and with our capitals production unavailable because of GLib.
I pull out of war economy, and set for a little pillaging campaign :scan:
Turn 4
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0001.jpg
Well, looks like Bombay just built walls :lol: what a joke. Heading south.
Turn 5
NY -> Worker
Turn 6
yummy!! :lol: stupid AI ^^
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0002.jpg
Turn 7
:sleep:
Turn 8
Brennus asks OB : why not?
On the southern front : now that's interresting !
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0003.jpg
Turn 9
NY -> settler (c'mon, 90% science??? let's expand a bit !)
Turn 10
OK here's the situation :
- GLib in 2 turns
- Maths in 1, then construction in 20 (less w/ Glib)
I suggest to burn Madras, then make peace.`
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/Eshnunna/Civ4ScreenShot0004.jpg
Then build a city or 2 (grab iron) and/or take barb city, and come back to finish Gandhi with a few cats later.
We have plenty of room to expand btw :)
