I voted for the Romans. Their UU will give us a much needed military advantage at the beginning when we are still getting organized.

Persia. The Immortals are a dominating force and give a nicely timed Golden Age.

sorry, gentleman. i'm going to have to go with the aztecs. if there's one tribe i don't want to meet in the dark forest, it's the aztecs. plus i will be able to use jaguar warriors at the begining of the game. that's my vote.

Once again i think will need another poll with the most voted civs we have too many options.

I agree. The vote is very spread out. I'd recommend letting the poll go to tomorrow and then repoll with anything over 1 vote.

I suggest taking the top 3 (or more if there is a tie) and voting on them. By tomorrow, almost every one of them will probably have 2 votes (I hope).

I think we should use the Romans. The legions are good at dominating and the Militaristic trait will get us alot of Elite units and maybe some GL's faster. Also the Commercial trait will reduce corruption if we choose to go to war alot and it will also get us some extra $$$$$. So I voted for Romans.

Where's the random option? I voted Japan, as a flexible choice. But why not let fate decide?

Hey guys I Agree with Shaitan, Persia Rocks! The Immortals are better for attacking than the legion. and if the great defense of the legion is what attracts you, then be the greeks and get some phalanxes. I'm playing persia right now and I am experiencing my second golden age.

I voted for Germans, mostly because I like the combination of Militaristic and Scientific. Science mainly because you can usually rush libraries in one turn in most of your cities before you get to republic/monarchy, which can be a BIG culture boost. Militaristic for the leaders, which are always helpful and will probably generate some great debates!!

Hello. I'm a Civ 3 newb and was rather hoping that you would have put the attributes next to each tribe as I'm afraid that I don't know them off by heart as so many of you do.
Still, since the game is open then I shall be popping in now and again to give my vote and opinion.

I go for Egypt - good time for a golden age, pyramids match the attributes, good civ traits (religious and industrial) and a decent UU (war chariot 2/1/2, higher attack than regular chariot, same stats as horseman but cheaper).

Hmm, looks like a tie between Rome and Germany.

I suggest Germans, ofcourse, but there are good points to both.

Perhaps another poll to decide between the 2 is necessary?

Well this poll has still a few day's to be voted on.And as normal ,if it come's to a tie ,the president will make the decission.

I think that the next poll should not be restricted to just the Romans and Germans. It should also include the civs that are on 3 at the moment (or 4 or just slightly fewer by the time the poll closes) This would make it like the French presidential elections I admit, but will still allow the chance of a comeback from one of the outsiders, possibly benefitting from all the extra votes that are now available. I have to say though, there are a thousand and one German SGs in the Stories and Tales forum so I'm not overly keen on having them but it's a democratic decision in the end.

The Persians should also be included because they are only one vote behind. As the votes are scattered alot then it makes sense to perhaps have 5 choices for the next vote because you do not kn ow whether they would have voted for the Perisians as their second choice.

I like the idea of a revote, but i think we should limit it to the first three options. If we take too many we will probably get the same result as the first time.

I don't like the idea for a revote much.So by default i won't hold a poll for a revote ,if a concerned citizin feel's it is his duty to hold a poll asking if a revote is nessecary ,then i won't stop him.In that case i hope that citizin make's sure his poll has good option's.

I voted for the Germans.
I like Rome too, but as the Germans I usually kick thier butts royally.
I find thier UU is too early especially if it is an archepeligo game map.
As the Romans I had fun, but I found that civs with later UUs were harder to kill. (Russians, Americans, Germans etc)

I think we should go with the Greeks, as to try to play a more peaceful game. The hoplite will help us defend our borders when we are weak in the early game.

Since the leaders (Germany/Romans) have a visible majority I'd say a revote isn't necessary. Whichever one wins, wins. If it ends up with the two of them tied then have a one day runoff.

Persia is still better than either of them though!:p

I think a revote would be the most fair path to take!

A vote with 16 choices and only 44 total votes does not make a good 'one pass' election, especially with a decision with THIS much impact on the game play.

Although I like the second tier nations, Iro's, Persians, Babs, I would recommend a re-vote with the top two -- to get started quickly, and with assurance of a majority backiing. If you want more choices, the ones Pggar listed would be the way to go.
