i've played civ iv with almost no problem .
i installed warlord but i can't play because of a very strange problem :
all backgrounds of all menus and buttons(i mean that blue backgrounds) are transparent and hidden but the texts are shown.
and as well i cannot see checkboxes and command buttons(texts are not disappeared) but i can start the game and it runs well!
i don't know what to do . i even reinstalled windows .hope there be solution.

no one has any suggestions ?

Apply the 2.08 patch.

Is the background of the buttons vital for gameplay?

i think a skin may solve the problem . is there any skins for civ that change the button backgrounds ,etc ?

Maybe what you could also try is to erase the civ profile information for the buggy user. I.e. folders:
C:\documents&settings\<username>\my docs\my games\firaxis\civ
C:\documents&settings\<username>\application data\firaxis
I don't have civ installed on this comp so those are guessed. The second folder might be hidden and it might be elsewhere :/
When you delete the profile stuff, it will be recreated when launching warlords.

no.didn't work! i reinstalled windows ,too. i'm so confused.
what can it be for? isn't there any skin changer , etc ? there must be sth like this because there are lots of skins for any program and i don't think these are very hard to write .
i don't think it's because of my graphic card because i had no problem with civ iv .my graphic card :nvidia geforce 6200 256mb
