Glad to be here - no need to stop recruiting now though. If we can pick up more good players we will be even better off. Is Greekguy our designated recruiter? Maybe he could PM some top players for us.

Maybe DaveMCW, he was recruited for Epsilon in the civIV demogame, so we could try the same. He is number 8 in the pantheon of heroes of civIII GOTM.

DaveMcW is definitely one of the very best if someone wants to try to convince him to return to Civ 3 for a game. From the last MTDG, WackenOpenAir and killercane are probably the top players who have not signed up yet. From the (S)GOTMs, klarius and Abegweit come to mind - I'm sure there are many others, but their names escape me right now... we don't want to monopolize all the top players anyway, but having a couple really top-notch players seems good...

sure, give me a name and i'll try my best (though i'm better at recruiting people who have an idea who i am, most of the people Chamnix named probably don't know me).

EDIT: i just did a quick scan of the old MTDG team lists, and thought i could invite Black_Hole to our team, since i know him from the civ 3 SP demogames. you guys want me to drop him a line?

sounds good, but I don't know for sure. He's in Innovia, but he hasn't been active for a while (activity really dropped at a certain point), but if you convince him to come back here, maybe he'll come back to the civ4 one too :D

seeing as some of the other teams are starting to acquire more actives, i figure i'll try some recruiting again. i'll send a PM to wackenopenair, since i at least know who he is, though he probably doesn't know me. i'll also PM Cyc, who i know from past single player DGs. most of you probably don't know him, but he's decent at civ and can help keep our team organized.

EDIT: i'm also going to send a recruitment PM to Donovan_Zoi.

I'll post something in my civIV team, maybe get some of them interested too.

There's not much to do yet. Hopefully the start of the game is no more than a week or two away now - once we see our opening position, things will get more interesting.

Hello fellow citizens, looks like I have a bit of reading to do to become a acquainted with the structure of this society. As a real newbee at this style I'll be presenting a couple of out of the box ideas. Hopefully at least one will provide a blip on the radar of our success.

Might I also suggest that someone conact Scoutsout & Grahamiam to see if they are interested in joining. I've found them to be very good players. Also a couple of old timers like SirPleib, DaveMcW, Moonsinger & TedJackson might be talked into serving as Village Elders if they are still around.

scoutsout and grahamiam were on KISS last game, so if they sign up, they'll join either BABE or GONG. if you want to invite those other people you mentioned, go ahead. :)

If we let them sign up on their own, then they would probably join one of the teams you mentioned, but if they are invited, they might be willing to try something different :dunno:.

Not sure about DaveMcW and TedJackson, and I haven't seen Pleb, but Moonsinger I know for a fact is too busy 'to post regularly'.

As for those two others, I don't know, try inviting them ;)

I doubt that Dave would come here since he does seem to be more concerned about [civ4]

Yeah, you arrived for the showdown. If only the pace would be a little bit faster, but the other teams are darn slow...

Basically so you know why your units disappear.

If you are invovled in a battle plan and are moving units towards an opponent, you basically know what and how many units you have in this particular area when you send the save off to the next player. Well, let's say there are 4 teams involved in the game, so the save gets passed on two more times before it gets back to you. When you get the save, you notice a couple of your important units missing. What happened to them? Check the Battle Logs. That should explain everything - which team took them out and how. You will be able to justify these things with Battle Logs.
